rivers around bunbury

Hi all, ive recently moved to bunbury and im wondering if anyone could share some info about fishing the local rivers. I had a quick flick in the collie river the other arvo near the bridge and pulled a couple of bream from the shore using plastics (22cm and 35cm). Ive had a hunt around online but cant find much info on fishing the preston river. Im targeting bream and redfin. Curious as to whether they are actually in the preston or not, and how far upstream i would need to go for redfin? Im a stones throw from the preston but dont want to waste good catching time if theres nothing there. If thats the case i will drive to harvey, waroona, stick to collie or go down the beach.

Cheers in advance. Tim

Swan River family friendly fishing spot

Hey Guys, planning on going fishing tonight with the family. The plan is, we head to the swan river with the rods, a portable bbq and get a line in the water (or sit on the grass if your not into fishing).

so i was wondering if anyone knew of some spots where you can pull up a nice patch of grass, but also have a chance of a fish? I'm not expecting someones secret spot, just a little advice!

Thanks in advance.

Coral bay sand spike

Hi all, im off to Coral Bay for xmas and have been reading about a sand spike between Coral Bay and Exmouth.

any crabs in river

Is there any crabs in the river yet?

Niagara Dam. Any fish in there?

Heading down to Niagara Dam (near Menzies) for a night on the weekend, can anyone give me info about the place? Looks pretty good through the google searching I've been doing but would like to hear it first hand. Also, I know there's plenty of yabbies in the dam, but some sites mention its good for a fish. Can anyone vouch for that as being in the middle of the Goldfields, I have my doubts. Unless someone put some carp or perch in there at some stage.
Hopefully someone has some first hand experience. Thanks in advance

Beach Camping/Fishing

Without giving away any fishing spots, where are good beaches to go camping overnight and fish?

I am mainly after spots that are good for camping. North of Two Rocks seems ok, but I haven't explored there yet.

Also, what are the rules in general about beach camping?

Holiday fishing

Hi All, first post on here for me. I live in the Uk and visit Perth at least once a year to see my daughter and family, i freshwater fish in the Uk and have done for most of my life mainly for predatory fish such as wels catfish, pike, zander and chub i have done some sea fishing in Australia but my experience is limited. Now I'm hoping to retire next year and spend a few months of the year in W.A. travelling around camping and fishing. Would just like some advise on where to start my journey, ive been down as far as Albany and Esperance but not been north yet. As far as the fishing goes id love to target sharks but i know I'd be better off getting abit more experience first so just going to fish for whatever comes along. Ill mostly be landbased fishing with the odd charter and may still have a dabble in a river or dam.Any help you can offer on locations, species to target, tackle and bait will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Billy

Cervantes/hill river

 Hi guys

Heading up to Cervantes in a week and wondering if anyone knows what the weed situation is like up there as i'll only be doing land based fishing. Have done some research on the general area in the forums here for where to wet a line (near hill river by the sounds of it?) but if anyone has any tips on a general area to head to would be great (or possible spots to fish when the wind kicks up). Targetting mulloway/sharks or anything else that wants to play (will all be released as dont have a freezer).

Cheers

west cost lbg during november...

Hi guys,

I would like to know if you got some place to suggest where to stop for a fish, mainly surf/rock during November.

I will be traveling from north Queensland to north Wa and all the way down to Margaret river....

I can stop anywhere as we have no exact plans, got caravan with me and 4wd....only problem is that I'm with my wife and mean I can't do anything too hard core like step point....unfortunately.

Gidgee Fishing in the Shallows

Hi everyone,

I remember when I was kid going out one night with a gidgee and a torch walking in the shallows down in Busselton and going home with a couple of Flathead and a Cobbler.

Is there anywhere between Rockingham and Joondalup that's good for that kind of thing?

Cheers

James

Any weed at white hills

Has anyone fished white hills beach in the past few days. Seeing what the sea weed situation is.

Long Point LB?

Hey guys, has anyone been down to long point recently and if so what's the weed situation like?  I was there a week or 2 back and it was weeded to buggery.

Cheers.

Pinkies land based.

Well I've got f-all room for a boat so it's time to hit the beaches and the rocks and the jetties and what ever else. Being down here in Wellard, we are obviously close tp Rockingham etc, are there any decent LB spots for a pinkie fish around here? I know 30 odd years back it was Palm Beach jetty and places, but I hate the crowds as I've grown older, so what's a good place to chill and soak a line?

cheers

Dale

Looking for info/designs for a Boom Arm Cliff Fishing

 G'day guys!

I have fished the cliffs south of steep point all my life and have seen many designs of extended boom arms with pulleys to keep your line off the rocks.

I have never really bothered with using one but I have a bit of spare time between the next trip and want a little project to work on. Would be great to see what other LBG fishos use off these ridiculous cliffs so i can try and design the perfect one!!

This is a photo I have pulled from the net (not my property) but it has the boom/ crane jib I am looking to make!
