Gday all, can anyone ID this shell fish found in a Pilbara salt water creek?

caught this in the swan on a hardbody lure, actually caught 2 of them.

it looked too silvery to be a bream to me ...

Suspect frypan bream or convict surgeon, cant be sure. Caught by a collegue at a creek mouth Cape Preston.

 GRUNTER OR SWEETLIP BREAM?

 Does any one know what this is it was found yesterday under mandurah bridge. It's 1 meter in length and about 400 wide with a hard shell like structure on the top ?

 From the fishwreckapedia it could be a Senator Wrasse but the mouth looks different and I would rather be sure for next time.

 Anyone help have no idea was caught in 15m deep water off exmouth,Look in all the books and could not find anything

I was just looking at some old photo's.... not sure what this one is? I looked through the fish ID guide... looks like a cross between a bullseye and a baby buffalo bream....

I think it was caught on the outside of ocean-reef marina rockwall.

Any ideas?

caught this off the rocks a bit past albany (wa) and have no bloody clue what it is! looked thru my species guide but no luck

 I was in kalbarri a while back and i caught this fish off the jetty near the marina. I've never seen one before, has anyone else??

Not sure what it is, but bloody tasted good!

Caught these at Hamelin Bay on the weekend. Does anyone know of the species and whether they are good eating? I know the last one is some sort of drummer, but it took a squid bait!

G'day Fellow fishos'

Last year at the start of March the Mrs and I went upto Shark Bay for a fishing sortie. One arvo off the beach, along with the 1m plus long tom, goldspot estuary cod and black snapper we caught this funny looking critter!

Was hilarious watching the Mrs' jump around giving little squeals and screams. It's eyes glowed a bit red in the light and made the funny croking noise.. Greedy little bugger took a whole live sand whiting down it's gob too! Needless to say we let it go, using pliers, to fight another day!

Any Ideas?

Was darker in colour when it surfaced, big head for its body size, caught metro this morn. Def not bartail or blue spot, Fringe Eye? Common for metro?

this seems to be all im catching these days there at hillaries

And should we have kept it for fresh bait? (this one and another went back)
