Was wondering if anyone has caught a Pig fish in Perth. We were at 5 fathom bank on wednesday and caught what I think was a red Eastern Pig fish. It was similar to a wrasse but more of a snapper shape, bright red with a large black mark on its dorsal fin.  I let it go as I didnt know what it was . Anyone caught anything similar and what are they like to eat.

This is my first post, pretty new to fishing. So far I've learnt to identify (and return to the ocean) wrasse and buff bream, smelly buggers!

Shortfinned sea pike, Snook, Barra????? Not sure what it is really as it seemed stockier and more 'toothy' than the sea pike I've taken before. Any help appreciated thanks C

Caught this lil guy off trigg, probs about 25-30cm nice and fat... have no idea what it is, Some kind of Wrasse maybe?

It was caught in the swan river with a net ive only ever seen it once and i have asked a few older more experienced fisherman and they have never seen it before. Its white underneath and has a long snout and if ya look closely on the end of its fins it has like claws but they are not sharp. The fish was caught and released.

 Caught this little guy out on the FFB today from a school of Skippy... thought it was one at first but the yellow dots and blue fins are obviously not normal for a skippy. Haven't seen a trevally like this before, just a random or some other northern species a bit lost?

when i was filleting a pinkie my brother caught on sunday off rotto i found these two hard ball things near the spine and have never seen anything like it before and was wondering if anyone knows what they are? any info much appreciated thanks sammy.

Does anyone know what this small ray is I caught at Hillarys Marina this morning...... One of the strangest things Ive ever caught, it had a small fish in its stomach maybe even a blowie :) I have never seen a ray with such a small tail

Hey crew nailed this little fella the other day in my local marina on Squidgy Wriggler, I called it for a Diamond Trev but I'm not 100% sure..

I know there is another fish that looks very similar....

I'm not much of a fisherman and can't seem to find what the name of this fish is. Caught around dusk at Dunsborough off the beach (put back in after the photo) and just wondered if anyone could help with ID.

I have been fishing here for about 20 years and never caught one of these. Caught just out off south Beach.
