Fish Identification
Eastern Pigfish
Submitted by Gav475 on Fri, 2011-12-30 12:41Was wondering if anyone has caught a Pig fish in Perth. We were at 5 fathom bank on wednesday and caught what I think was a red Eastern Pig fish. It was similar to a wrasse but more of a snapper shape, bright red with a large black mark on its dorsal fin. I let it go as I didnt know what it was . Anyone caught anything similar and what are they like to eat.

Fish ID
Submitted by Goodz on Thu, 2011-08-11 20:03Caught this little guy out on the FFB today from a school of Skippy... thought it was one at first but the yellow dots and blue fins are obviously not normal for a skippy. Haven't seen a trevally like this before, just a random or some other northern species a bit lost?
