I'm in dehnam now. We had to
I'm in dehnam now. We had to leave shelter bay due to the incoming storm. I've been talking with plenty of the other crew in town and your right withnell point is not the best spot. There's a little bay just south of it where they anchor and stay the night. Haven't got the name of it but will be easy to find once over.

Have stayed in the bay south
Have stayed in the bay south of Withnell many times and it's a great spot, very protected but beware the mozzies can be relentless.

Have been a couple of times
Yes you can anchor in Withnell, there is a line of fringing reefs that even on a small swell break occasionally but also protect inside (especially on a lowish tide), not enough to be an issue but worth being conscious of, if theres a decent swell running or strong easterly then they can be an issue. Last I was there there was a mooring in the bay but I wouldn't trust it, looks like its been a long time since it's been used. anchor in the corner and you will be protected from most things, on a decent tide you'll end up sitting on the bottom at low. as other have said there is another anchorage just south of Withnell which has a sand spit that gives btter protection in some conditions.
