Who's Riding in the Ride To Conquer Cancer this weekend?
Submitted by madfisher on Mon, 2013-10-14 10:48Hey All,
I spoke to a couple of you guys a few months back who are riding this weekend in the Ride To Conquer Cancer. We came up with the idea of any Fishwrecked members riding should hang a lure from under their seat so we can identify each other and give us a slap on the back for a bloody good effort for a great cause.
I'll be doing it and would love to see any other Fishwrecked members riding to.
All the best for the ride.

Been quite a few years coming, but today got all it's ducks in a row to salute the judges at Bathurst. Just the shot in the arm that Ford needed.

Bogged loader
Submitted by collin g wood on Sun, 2013-10-13 09:04According to petermac in a private message I had this all wrong, so I will attempt to get it correct this time.
This is a picture of a bogged loader, looks like he was using it at low tide to move the dredge hose around on the shore, although I'm only speculating as I didn't actually see him doing it. The picture was taken at approximately friday 9.15 am from the Bent Street boat ramp.
Windscreen wipers?
Submitted by jng on Sat, 2013-10-12 07:55Curious as to who actually uses thier windscreen wipers? (Hardtop with full windscreen) The new boats not to far away and was wondering if they are worth the hassle?
will you require a fresh water to squirt onto the windscreen in order for it to work?
Thanks justin

Footage - Sharks feeding on whale carcass 13kms off Rotto
Submitted by sarcasm0 on Fri, 2013-10-11 06:45Bit of good footage, pity about all the bullshit from Channel 9. They say 4 sharks were feeding from it, but the footage shows one. They crap on about great whites, but the shark shown in the majority of that clip looks like a tiger to me!

Custom Hats
Submitted by Wet Dreams on Thu, 2013-10-10 19:57Hi all,
Just after some help in regards to getting some custom hats made, thought it would be a cool idea to get a bunch made up for the annual boys fishing trip. Just a few words on the front, be it printed or embroided, and in a truckers style or baseball style cap.
Anyone know of any companies that would be able to cater to this? Either online or Perth based, better yet in the Bunbury region.
Cheers Sam.

Lost knife
Submitted by Jason P on Thu, 2013-10-10 19:39Left my 9inch Berkley filleting knife behind at Steep point, would love to have it back not likely though I reckon. Should find it on the rocks by the shore at 26º9.276S 113º10.688E there abouts I think. Red & grey handle.
Update on two rocks ramp
Submitted by Paul G on Thu, 2013-10-10 17:01The Two Rocks ramp will be open until the 15th so we are good to fish this weekend .
The old ramp is being ripped out and a new ramp will be put in its place, exstending another 8m into the water allowing for drive on and off. The ramp will not be made wider as goverment regs state, you need x amount of parking for a single ramp and then more parking if the ramp be made bigger and they don't have the room for more parking bays .No washdaown or toilets at this point in time .They are also fixing the marina rock wall as it is need of repair . So there you have it .I will be out Sunday for a few hours in the morning need to be home for 10 .

Submitted by carnarvonite on Tue, 2013-10-08 13:14Just came over the news that a man is dead and another 5 were thrown in to the sea after hitting a wave off Exmouth.
Seems as though two boats were travelling in convoy and one boat disappeared after striking the wave, on returning the second boat found the others all in the water with one man deceased

GPS Tracker -- Boat security
Submitted by r001972 on Sun, 2013-10-06 21:42Evening all been looking into the GPS tracking systems you can get now days for boat security and was wondering if anyone else has looked into them or better still has one, Looking for something simple and reliable where I can insert a prepaid sim card, sent text messages to enable/disable perimeter for when it is parked up at home and that will send text messages if it goes outside this perimeter with the ability to track online.
Has anyone else looked into this sort of technology as the more I look, the more confused I get, there is a lot of cheap ones on EBAY from china but am afraid of "get what you pay for" and then there is the other scale in which you have a subscription which makes it not financial viable for a small trailer boat.
I looking for something that will run of the main battery with its own backup battery in case someone disconnects the main, with good reception for both cell and GPS, can be easily hidden so no one knows it there except yourself.

Advice on buying a boat
Submitted by 69Spike on Sun, 2013-10-06 13:54Gday there,
New member with first post.
I'm moving to Exmouth soon, and have been given permission from the fun minister to buy a boat with a limited budget.
Ive found two boats that meet my requirements (locally), and would like your learned experience with what you consider to be the better of the two boats presently under consideration.
Boat 1: 2003 5.65m Stacer Ocean Runner Sports
2003 115hp Johnson 2 stroke with low hours
120 ltr underfloor fuel tank
Canopy/Bimini with clear front and sides
Rocket launchers and SS rod holders
Epirb, Sounder/GPS Plotter and radio
Down Riggers, Bait Board, Burley Bucket and safety gear
$28,000
Boat 2: 2003 560 Trailcraft Sportscab
2004 115hp Mercury salwater series 2 stroke with low hours
120 ltr underfloor fuel tank
Canopy/Bimini with clears front and sides
Rocket launcher with SS rod holders
Sounder/GPS Plotter and radio
Dual batteries
$28,500
I hear good and bad experiences with both boats, so any help would be appreciated. I will be bartering for better prices depending on which boat I go with. I'm off to inspect the Stacer tomorrow, and the Trailcraft next weekend if still available.
Thanks Spike
