Upcoming Election - Stop the Greens. Outdoor recreation party
Submitted by Fish13 on Mon, 2013-08-26 16:29Hi All,
AS you do know its election time and on the 7th september, I have put my name down as a candidate for the senate. As an Alternative to the Shooters and Fishers.
David Fishlock
David grew up in the south west of WA watching speedway and fishing with his family. His father was a volunteer at Collie speedway, which rubbed off on him and led to him racing and visiting many of the circuits around Australia.
He has been very sad to see so many tracks go for development and always loved the bridge at Oran Park.
David's youth was spent travelling around WA with cub scout and police rangers doing cave walks, abselieing and rock climb as well as orienteering and fund raisers.
His racing days are over with four children, but he now finds himself teaching them about fishing and cars and enjoying the outdoors, constantly under threat from extremist greens.
He particularly deplores current marine conservation zones that will destroy the fishing industry and have a flow on effect on to tourism in the region.
David wants his childern to be able to see and do everything that he has been able to and that his family has enjoyed for generations.
My aim for this election is for everyone who is fed up. annoyed and feeling down right lied to vote for a party that will look after your out door rights.
Wether this is S+f, Aust fishing lifestyle or STG.
Thanks everyone and make your vote count sept 7th!

Toyota Prado damage caused by short mudflaps
Submitted by Iceman on Mon, 2013-08-26 13:19In May I purchaes a secondhand 150 series Prado. In june I went on a trip up north to the Pilbara. On return and on cleaning th car found damage to the rear bumper and front doors. Found out the original mudflap were too short and damage is stone damage from gravel tracks.
Went back to Toyota who advised they would replace mudflap but only repair rear damage. I advised they had to repair all the damage as it was not there when purchased. Car was still under new car warranty and that other had the damage repaired.
They have now come back and advised they will not repair damage or replace mudflaps.
Also found out the Toyota have been aware of this probelms for many years and in fact from 2011 new cars had the longer mudflaps them. Found info on website pradopoint. They would only do something if customer complained.
Has anyone else had this problem. Trying to show Toyota they have set a precedent by fixing other cars.
Also if you have a Prado might want to check mudflaps before you go offroad.

I know where you live !!
Submitted by tiimmbo on Fri, 2013-08-23 21:02just a quick peek at what we found today when scouting for some new cray grounds. Came across 4 different ledges within 20m of each other that all looked the same. 30 ish metre depth, awesome visibility today and no swell or wind. Couldn't have been a better day for it. Water was 20C.
We will be back on the 15th Nov !!
Polycraft tow in
Submitted by carnarvonite on Fri, 2013-08-23 20:32Towed a 4.8 Polycraft back in from over the islands today with the keel lifting off at the base of the bow.
They found a leak as they arrived at Disaster Cove on Dorre island, they did makeshift repair to seal that one then found the bigger one on the keel.
We tried having them come back under their own power but had to off load all the gear after a few miles when the bilge pump couldn't cope and they started getting wet feet. Once the boat was up on the plane with the two on board down the back it was a straight forward tow in except when we had to slow down to come alongside the jetty.
The owner had spoken to Polycraft in QLD and they said to put the boat on a truck to QLD and they will replace it with a new boat. Raises a few doubts in my mind about them as the conditions were ideal, nothing above 1/2 a metre and below 10 knots.

round 22
Submitted by randall df223 on Sun, 2013-08-18 21:27My interest is whether freo can play 4 quarters?
Can Geelong take four points away from Sydney?
Even in free fall, essendoping will play finals, unless the afl commission say otherwise.
Are the big improvers, port power secure in the eight?

Dhueys for Sea-Kem
Submitted by carnarvonite on Sun, 2013-08-18 20:55The first couple of shots are from two trips up to the Bouvards from Bunbury with a mate and his son on his boat ---remember the limit was 10 dhufish each in those days so it was all legal.
The next one is off Two Rocks and the last is from one of the early trips to Gnaraloo that represents about 4 hours from leaving the shearing shed to time of return, again the limits then were different from what they are now.

Unreserved Apology
Submitted by davidbland50 on Sun, 2013-08-18 12:11I unreservedly apologise for the criticisms I made of All Boats in my last thread.
I don't deny those things happened, I realise what other fishwreckers said that they are trying to run a business and that they cannot succeed if they are giving handouts to every tom dick or harry that comes along.
My only excuse for my outburst was I suppose that my life was not going too well at the time. What with my wife have emergency surgery, my father suffering a heart attack and then having a bypass operation and to top it off my mother died also from a heart attack that was totally unexpected.
So I hope that All Boats accept my apology and ignore my last.
Fish on.

Upcoming Election - Shooters & Fishers Party
Submitted by Tradewind on Fri, 2013-08-16 13:36Hey All,
We've talked a bit about the Shooters & Fishers party in some of the other threads.
For WA we have two representatives for the senate and I'd like to post some information on who you'd be voting for.
When voting for them, you can pick whomever you want for lower house (Pref not Greens) but for the Upper house (Senate) Vote 1 for Shooters & Fishers above the line!
If you're disillusioned about politics and were going to just throw your vote or donkey vote, why not put it towards these guys instead for a chance at better Fishing/Hunting/Camping/4WDing conditions without Lockouts.
Without further ado here is the information on our WA Senate hopefuls (Extract taken from Shooters & Fishers Official Website)
WA #1 Senate Candidate
Murray Bow
Murray Bow leads the WA branch of the Shooters & Fishers into the 2013 Federal Election. A man of great experience who has travelled extensively in WA, he has worked in the public and private sectors as a salesman, commercial pilot, events coordinator, flying instructor, real estate representative and manager; he served in the Army Reserve and is active in the Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade. Murray has been a keen shooter since his childhood, and he now hunts and is an International Shooting Sports Federation pistol shooter. He has held shooting club committee positions at both club and State level. Travelling and bush camping are favoured pastimes for Murray and his family, and Murray continues to fly, ride motorcycles, cycle, kayak and run for fitness.
WA #2 Senate Candidate
John Parkes
John Parkes campaigned for the Shooters & Fishers in the 2013 WA State election, nearly winning a second Upper House seat for the party and these same qualities have earned him a place as a WA candidate for the Federal Senate. John has the proven ability, passion and knowledge developed during 34 years of successful business ownership, where his motivation and ambition culminated in his early self-funded retirement – something that has allowed him to focus on legislative issues which affect Australians with a love of the outdoors.
“The people involved in shooting, fishing and outdoor activities feel disenfranchised by ever-increasing interference with and tightening of the laws already covering these pastimes,” he says. “The battle must be taken to the Federal Senate to stem the tide of poorly thought out legislation.”
Retirement has also allowed John to travel, enhance his property, hone his boating and fishing skills and enjoy regular hunting and shooting trips.

Can Freo overcome their MCG hoodoo? Meh, indifferent.
Can the Eagles do the rest of the top 8 a favour and knock off the Cats? Be a bonus but not counting on it.
Can the Bombers lift now that the mexican jumping juice is dwindling in their veins? Couldn't give a toss.

Bulk fish oil
Submitted by gav1970 on Thu, 2013-08-15 15:25After making small amounts of burley each time I go fishing I've decided I'd like to make it in bulk and freeze it in plastic milk containers. I've bought myself a huge bag of pollard but I haven't been able to find anywhere that sells fish or tuna oil in bulk (i.e. 20-30lts+). Does anyone know any places selling it in this sort of quantity?
Cheers.
