Oceansouth Cabin Cruiser Boat Cover -Suggestions on Ex East Trip
Submitted by trueblue_10 on Sat, 2013-09-07 20:16What is everyone's experience of the Oceansouth Cabin Cruiser Boat Covers for fitment, towing and durability for my style of boat. They are $329 at Bias Boating.
I have a 6.1 Metre Quintrex Ocean Sport low profile cuddy cabin to bring back to Perth from Melbourne. I was thinking about fitting one of these for the trip back to protect the boat a bit from the elements, stones etc. I am a bit worried about stone chips etc for the 3500km journey as I have never driven this before. I will be eventually housing the boat outside my home and will need a full cover over the boat.
For towing this distance what do you suggest. I was also instead considering a proper bra to protect the bow from someone like Drew at Big Fat Snapper etc and using a Oceansouth full cover for the 150HP motor. The only thing is I have about 3 weeks to organise a bra for the bow.
Your advice welcome as I am new to this.

##%%&&**(( FUEL THIEVES
Submitted by sunshine on Thu, 2013-09-05 17:50Had my boat temporarily stored at a mates rural property, hooked up tonight for a possible trip out tomorrow and did my usual pre-launch checks, what the hell the tank reads empty ! I always fill it at the end of a trip to ensure it is ready to go ...........200 litres gone to some thieving barstard ...........what he doesn't know is that whilst the motor is an oil injected two stroke we have disabled the injection system and premix our fuel
If you see a blue smoke belching vehicle in the Gosnells Armibloodydale area please note done the number and let me know
And can you buy lockable screw in style fuel caps ???
Filling it up will hurt with fuel at $1.55 even with a discount voucher - what is even worse is that this tank full was bought witha 30 cent discount voucher and it only cost less than $1.10 a little .....grrrrrrr

Woosha has resigned
Submitted by sea-kem on Thu, 2013-09-05 15:34It seems the messiah has quit. My hat is off to what he has achieved at the club with two grand final appearances and 1 flag. Personally I think his tactical game plan had been thoroughly compromised this year and together with a horrendous injury list compounded the problem even more. So interesting days, months and years ahead for Eagles and I have no doubt we will be restored to the power house we once were. A fresh list of players next year and some fresh thinking on the coaching side of things will be a good thing. GO EAGLES!!!

Expensive chewing
Submitted by carnarvonite on Thu, 2013-09-05 08:21Heard yesterday that the pros are getting $90 a kg for big crays and $75 for just size ones due to shortages and growing demand in China.
Makes you think twice on what it would cost you if you had to buy a feed instead of being able to catch your own when the season is open

Anchor Size.
Submitted by EricBananaMan on Wed, 2013-08-28 20:47This question is mainly aimed at the Dampier/Karratha locals but all are welcome to participate. I have a 5.5m glass boat and I think the plough anchor on it is a bit small for the tides up there. It does the job when I take the kids to ski beach or Sam's for the day but when I stayed at a mates shack on Malus, the boat had moved over night. I had anchored on the sand there as the tide was big enough for the reef under all the moorings to become exposed. As you all know, glass and reef don't mix well together. My kids are big enough now to venture outside Hampton Harbour for camping trips to the islands. My question is what type, size, weight range should I be looking for so my boat doesn't leave us behind over night? Below is a pic of our rig and a pic of the type of anchor on it now. Cheers for your feedback peoples

Ute advice.
Submitted by Auslobster on Wed, 2013-08-28 18:50Hey fellas
Am after a dual-cab, 4x4 ute...preferably diesel and manual transmission. Prepared to spend up to 30k. Leaning towards a Navara but am willing to listen to any and all advice you lot might have. Will need to tow a 19 foot centre console, which doesn't weigh much for it's size, but could be looking at long distance towing as well as the odd beach launch. So yeah, something capable of doing that as well as being a reliable off-roader. For the price I'm guessing something 2-3 years old but there'd have to be a few of you a lot more schooled up on this sort of thing than me so waiting for your responses!

Boat price
Submitted by Aaron Santos on Wed, 2013-08-28 17:49Hi All,
Im thinking of selling my boat and upgrading to something a little bigger.
My question is how much to sell it for. I have a 5.6m quinny classic with a 90 Johnson on the back. still in good condition for a 13 year old boat and is kept in the garage.
If anyone could give me a serious price in which they believe would be a fair price I would appreciate it.
I have checked online and redbook has them valued around the $15000 mark. Is this a fair price?
probably look at selling it in the next couple of months
Pic now uploaded. it is on a tandem trailer.
No bimini as it had a run in with the garage door and come off second best.

Essen-done
Submitted by big john on Tue, 2013-08-27 17:38Looks like the penalties are coming down:
Kicked out of the finals (and not stripped of points so they are not advantaged in later rounds of draft)+
Banned from first two rounds of this years draft
Banned from first round of next years draft
$2 million fine
Suck shit you cheating dogs.
Hopefully Hird goes for the high hurdle.
Feel for the players and the fans, let down badly by management.
