Anyone looking for work?
Submitted by Goodz on Tue, 2013-08-13 09:43Currently considering having an offsider to help me with the extreme work load that I have at the moment so thought Id ask here first while I'm sorting a few things out.
Work is installing Colourbond Fences. You would be required to use a drill and a shovel and coordinated enough to push a wheel barrow through sand. All work will be quite basic labour with a fair bit of bending and occasional heavy lifting.
All work is in Piara Waters and must have own transport. Must be reliable and hard working. Any age as long as your physically suited to the work. Also preferably have a boat for early knock off days!
Potential for long term work for the right person.
Please PM for my number.
Cheers.
Ben

Building & Pest Inspection NOR
Submitted by Ben85 on Mon, 2013-08-12 14:06Afternoon All,
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a person who can do building and pest inspections for the pre-purchase of a property. The house is located in Mullaloo. Inspection needs to be done by latest Friday.
On another note, I’m looking at putting new carpet in 4 bedrooms and the lounge room. Can anyone give me a rough idea what it costs to install? I saw the price to actually purchase the carpet only is around $40-50/m2.
The other option would be to replace the carpet with jarrah floor boards. Suggestions?
Cheers/Ben

Not a whinge, just a note of caution
Submitted by psion on Sun, 2013-08-11 17:52My Daughter has learnt a valuable lesson, an old one, that every generation re-learns.
She enrolled for an event with ToughMudder, has done her knee in while training, needs surgery and can no longer complete, this year. The organizers have a no refund, no exception policy.
their policy is:
Can I get a refund? No. We do not issue refunds, regardless of circumstance, nor do we issue partial refunds, as per company policy and the terms & conditions that are agreed to by each participant during registration. We get it - this sucks. That's why we offer the ability to transfer your registration to another event if you cannot participate.
(doesn't offer a solution if you will never be able to participate again)
Fairly blunt and to the point, with no ambiguity, she should have read this first.
The flipside of this coin is the longer you leave registration the more expensive it gets.
My comment to her was, "It's tuff sh-t, you should of read this first".
so "young uns", a word of advice read the fine print/exit clause/refund policy, before you commit.
might save you some pain later on.
Not all is lost, however, she'll transfer it to next year.

United Ethanol Fuel
Submitted by Vinesh87 on Thu, 2013-08-08 17:08Now that United fuels is pushing Ethanol Fuels hard here in WA Whats everyones thoughts?
Straight from the Mercury Website it says "Fuels containing up to 10 percent ethanol are considered acceptable for use in Mercury engines"
"E85 fuels produce mileage approximately 30 percent less than gasoline." Why would you bother? Thats way less than the saving at the pump ?
And not to mention storage when the fuel can seperate leaving a fair bit of water going into your motor ?
Are there any advantages ?
Cheers,
Vinnie

Xtreme Gnaraloo Report
Submitted by Xtreme Coolers on Tue, 2013-08-06 21:43Hi all.
Finally got most of the pics sorted from a recent trip to Gnaraloo. The annual trip at the start of July was another ripper for us. One of the best things about it was finding new ground which really produced.
The track in was a little rough so a bit of caution was required there. The other interesting thing to note was how soft the beach was. Retrieving became an interesting afternoon feature as all up there were thoroughly challenged with the prospect with getting their boats out of the water. Team work was a must and a big thanks to all for a lot of help during the week. We managed well in the 6.5 ally however, it was always nice to have a second car on the spot if it was required. A big thanks to James and his crew for helping everyone during the week.
The fishing was excellent again, although i must say i did notice a destinct lack of a few species that would normally produce. Robinson Sea Bream and Pearl Perch were very scarce and only a few were caught.
We like to break our week up into three sections. One: filling the freezer, Two: drift baiting for mackies and Three: trolling.
All three produced really well without getting greedy. The thing we noticed on this trip, is that we could not get away from the big fish. A problem we were willing to deal with.
Catches of the week were: the 14 kilo 1 metre long Chinamen cod, 20 kilo Macks on 20lb gear, the number of 8.5 kilo Reds, the 11 kilo Rankins, the huge cods that were returned, fly fishing for trevs/bone fish and the large numbers of Cobia.
We did very well on the jigs and on the bait with the snapper in good numbers throughout the week. We did not have to travel far to find fish and the homestead reef produced some of the most insane rankins for the week. When the weather was good we did travel up and down the coast but did not fish in anything deeper than 45mtrs.
Gnaraloo is a magic place that makes you earn every fish. We did have trailer problems on the track (as you do) and these required some magical repairs so be prepaired.
We are definately returning for 2014 and look forward to seeing the FW crew up there again at the same time.
There was nothing better than coming home to head to the fillet table with a good bag of fish to fillet over a couple of beers.
A big thanks to my three mates, already planning for next year.
Enjoy some our pics.
Xtreme Dave

well, lets get this started... rnd 20
Submitted by randall df223 on Tue, 2013-08-06 12:41September is approaching and the cream is rising to the top.
is the top eight finalized? Will the Commission have the final say and boot essendoping out?
One would expect (read "hope") that the Hawks and Dockers will win. But other games aren't so cut and dry. Richmond vs Brisbane, Geelong vs Port, Carlton vs Bulldogs. Upsets are possible but perhaps unlikely. Sydney vs Collingwood, interesting. Shapes as a great game, probably the match of the round and a barometer for both coming to the business end. And perhaps the other games are no longer relevant (I love saying that about West Coast!).
Freo are top four on their merits and threatening for a top two finish, and for the first time I'll be enjoying consecutive years of September action!
Go Freo!

Any auto sparkies answer a quick question?
Submitted by sstevee on Thu, 2013-08-01 10:36Hi fellas,
So I picked up a new colorado a couple of days back and I'm gonna wire up some spotties. However I just wanted to ask any auto sparkies if there can be any problems with tapping into the high beam feed at the back of the headlights?... I've had a read of a few forums and I wanna make sure that it won't cause any dramas with the ecu's in the car... I've read that the amarok has a few dedicated plugs under the dash for picking up feeds specifically to avoid dramas with the canbus(?!?!)... Curious to see if anyone knows of similar for the colorado.
Ive wired up spots in the past and don't have any dramas with stripping and soldering to the existing wire, or getting through grommets, but I just wanna make sure I don't make an expensive mistake with all this fancy ecu crap.
Much appreciated
Steve
