Campbell Brown Sacked ..
Submitted by chris raff on Wed, 2013-12-04 13:31was going to suggest he put a Dockers jumper on but looks as if he's retiring.. by most accounts I've heard Steven May was rotten drunk and instigated the dramas and Brown was trying to get him to settle down . May then took a swing at Brown ( big mistake ) then copped a smack from Brown which resulted in a fractured jaw . In hindsight , it may not have been a good idea for the boys to be out on the turps .

electrician help needed please
Submitted by John the Pom on Mon, 2013-12-02 12:54I'm trying to replace an external light.
The old light was the old style inside eg had four wires going into four 'holes' - red, black, earth and white (I'm assuming this is for the switch).
The new light only has three 'holes' to fit the the four wires, so the question is where does the white (switch) wire go?
Any help much appreciated as this is driving me nuts.
Cheers

Photobucket - has it changed
Submitted by crasny1 on Thu, 2013-11-28 12:22Just checking. I havent used photobucket for a little while now. Tried to upload some fishing photos and then copy them back to here. But it appears on this computer, not my own that the whole setup has changed. I cant get the display I am used to to the link to paste this across.
Now is this just this computer (which I doubt) or has the whole setup changed, and if so, how do I go about it?
Cheers

Craft beers
Submitted by jighead on Wed, 2013-11-27 18:38Am interested to see if any of you guys get into the craft beers. Tell us what you have tried and what you like. The new moon dog jumping the shark at 15.4% is pretty lethal and I like thier lando kardashion and wet nurse tonic also. Nogne 100's are good at 9% and the rigor mortis beer is probably my favourite. Narwhals ( 10% ) and hoptimums ( 10%) also are good regulars. Just heaps better than normal beers in my opinion. Who's drinking what?

Nautical Nick-Nacks
Submitted by Browndog on Sun, 2013-11-24 20:10Hey all FW Crew.
I'm putting this out there under directions from Mrs Browndog. We are doing up a house, and she wants any old nautical/fishing/marine stuff for decoration, inside and out. So if you have any: anchors, cray pots, crab nets, prawn nets, nets, floats, rope, lighthouses, oars, portholes, ships bells, ships wheels, plastic lobsters, plastic crabs, plastic fish, starfish, divers helmets, telescopes, periscopes, lanterns, charts, sextants, fishing gear or whatever, drop me a line.
This won't make you rich, but may make Mrs Browndog happy, which may make me happy. Karma may go round, and your missus may make you happy? I hope she does.
Thanks in advance
BD.

My Good Deed For the Day
Submitted by Bruce on Sat, 2013-11-23 15:31Was just cruising around today at Pt Walter with the Jetski and some mates when a pod of dolphins came over for a play. Had a bit of fun then as i went to leave i saw another jetski with 3 blokes having trouble so went over to see what was going on. Turns out their ski rope got caught in the intake and had caused a bit of damage. Ended up hooking them up and towing them back to the Mossie Park boat ramp. My first tow on the ski
Was a bit disappointing that apparently a couple of boats left them because it was too 'far' for them to tow, and that even though we were towing, big boats still passed way too close (<10m).
Anyway all ended well and they were very appreciative

Dont touch your phone in the car! -just got nabbed (and no was not using the phone)
Submitted by pelagicyachts on Fri, 2013-11-22 16:30Tip for fellow Fishwreckers..
Picked up 250 fine today for touching (not answering) my mobile- thought it was worth sharing as the rules have changed and if it saves someone else a few bucks then i will feel better!
Was at the lights stuck in CBD traffic - lights changed to red - I was stopped and my phone was in the centre console drinks holder - i picked it up to lock it (blackberry and often if bumped will pocket call someone) put it back in console - lights still red, car still stopped - knock on the window from a Cop on a bike - he explained to me that you are not allowed to touch your phone at all when driving - 250 bucks and a fairly decent argument later i was on my way (now late) to a meeting.
guys in the office have found out and i am now friday fodder :-(
cheers

Using two stroke in car
Submitted by chris raff on Tue, 2013-11-19 08:22Just prepping the tinny for some crabs and still had 20 litres of 100 : 1 two stroke in tank ..which is over 6 months old . So renewed juice and transferred old mix to jerry can . Question is could I mix that in my cruiser which is around 3/4 full ?? with no dramas .. alternatively could I even get away with using with my 4 stroke mower . Don't want to have to dump it if I can utilise it somehow . Thanks in advance .

Boat flooring options
Submitted by jng on Mon, 2013-11-18 12:02Looking at different options for boat flooring, had carpet in the old boat and while it was ok for what I used it for- it held bad of odours from fish blood/bait and when the carpet gets wet it holds a fair bit of water/weight, and takes for ever to dry out.
Anyone used regupol rubber matting?
Or epoxy flecked lining- I believe sailfish cats use this style of flooring from rhino lining.
Thanks

Augusta fishing options? With just the mrs and my young bloke
Submitted by scano on Sun, 2013-11-17 18:55Hi all,
heading to Augusta during the week and need some help / advice on a couple of things. Basically I will be there for about a week for some r&r.
it will be just me, the mrs and our baby. The mrs has no dramas with me heading out for a fish each day but I got no idea what is on offer down that way. I know the main river that runs through town should hold black bream and the odd chopper tailor. My main question being is it worthwhile taking my 15 foot tinnie?
bearing in my I will be launching and retrieving on my own. Is there a safe launching option to get out in the shallows of the ocean down there? Not sure if the marina is open as yet??
i am mainly on the hunt for whiting and a few skippy so if anyone can point me in the right direction either land based or in the tinnie I would greatly appreciate it.

Thieving Farks!
Submitted by Stevo81 on Sun, 2013-11-17 18:04Just a heads up to fellow NOR boaties. Launched at Ocean Reef today for a dive and between 9 and 3 and some low life fuckwits stole the Great White LED light bar of the front of my cruiser. Would have taken 2 blokes to unbolt it I reckon because of the bull bar and I'm guessing another couple on lookout because it was quite busy down there.
Had a few cars broken into down there now between my group of mates and even though Ocean Reef is 5 minutes from my house, I can't remember the last time I launched there, this will definitely be the last.
Anyway, only had the cruiser for 6 weeks and just put lightbar on so if anyone saw anything suss down there let me know otherwise beware of the fucking scum trolling the carparks at ocean reef boat ramp!!

Bored - Need a footy fix
Submitted by crasny1 on Fri, 2013-11-15 12:41Miss the blasts from the footy bantering.
So now that most coaches/trades etc are settled whats the opinion for the teams next year.
Dockers will give it a red hot crack, but its about time the talent at the Suns shone through. Big improvers possibly, but not GF.

leaving pots in the water at rotto all week
Submitted by Rig on Wed, 2013-11-13 16:22Hi crew
I am heading over to rotto in 2 weeks with a few mates for the weekend. I am looking at also heading out this weekend so I thought I may throw my cray pots in this weekend. Whats peoples experiences with leaving them in that long? I know theres a good chance of an occy getting in and wrecking havoc on any crays but I am more worried out them still being there the following week and its 2 less things I will have to cart over the following week. If there are crays in them well thats just a bonus.
cheers Rig
