Golden Ponds
Submitted by Wackojoe on Thu, 2008-05-29 17:46Hi people,
Nice site you have here:) Just wondering if anyone has been to Golden Ponds to have a fish, any info on the place for fishing would be great too. Would like to take the family there to have a fish, quiet and hopefully better catch rates than the river?
Thanks!!

very quiet ol night @ the mole
Submitted by scano on Thu, 2008-05-29 09:01A few of us (me, Tailor Marc and Bodie) went for a flick last night at the North Mole. Geared up with the big rods, fresh squid and yellow tail baits, some fancy rigs ect. and not one bite all night.
Got there about 7pm and fished till 10 so not an overly long session but no only was it quiet for us but everybody else. Didn't see one hookup all night. I know that Daniel Westerdun has been doing well for Pinkie's in the metro area off rock walls lately but he must be about the only one.
Was good to get out of the house and the weather was suprisingly good for fishing but unfortunately the fish did not want to play the game.
any one else been out for a land based Snapper session lately? And if so any luck.
have a good 1

Mandurah Fishing L/B.
Submitted by Elora Danan on Thu, 2008-05-29 08:28Hi guys,
Over this long weekend myself and a couple of mates are planning to fish the Jolly Frog Jetty in Mandurah. But I'm hearing it being hit all the time and now just asking myself is it still worth a crack or is there any other substitutes out there? Really keen to land a fish down at Mandurah as I've never landed one down there myself. I'm not very familiar with Mandurah and spots around there, so if anyone out there who has the experience of fishing Mandurah can you please help this young cobber out?
Thanks guys.
Elora.

Beach Rod
Submitted by Carolyn on Fri, 2008-05-16 15:09Hey Guys Hubby needs a new Rod to suit Alvey. He fishes mostly beach. He is undecided between Snyder Glas 7 or 9 wrap
Or an Ozflex SU 400 or 450. ???? The Snyder glas has fuji guides which i think are better.. Any Advice would be appreciated.

Hillary's Wed night
Submitted by Stomper on Thu, 2008-05-15 23:03Met a work friend on the south wall Wed night for a quiet evening fish, After putting up with the rain for a little while we settled in and got out the burley.
My mate fished the top while i fished the bottom, Well Brett continued to pull in 1 Herring after the other while i fished the bottom only to end up with 3 largish trumpeter within 10 mins, oh well! up to the top for me ..
We fished for a total of 2 hours and landed 30 good sized Herring while losing at least 20 to the rocks and slippery hands.
Was a good mid week session.
Cheers Stuart

Impact Sinkers
Submitted by Shortly on Mon, 2008-05-12 18:37
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
We have been given a couple of impact sinkers, but have no idea how to rig them up. We are going up to Jurien this weekend and would love to give them ago.
Has anyone used them before? or could direct us to a site that shows how to set them up.
Also has anyone got any advice as to some good places to fish? We are strictly landbased but we do have a 4wd.
Thanks in advance,
Shortly.

Tailor Reef (Shore Base).
Submitted by Elora Danan on Thu, 2008-05-08 19:28Gday people,
Me and a couple of mates are keen to slug out some Poppers and Slices out off the beach for some awesome Tailor but we've never experience Reef fishing before. Is there a way to go about it and the reef's alongside of Mindarie Beach is worth a go? So we're planning to head out there on Saturday so we can get some tucker for Mothers Day the next day.
Thanks guys.

Landbased help
Submitted by Stomper on Mon, 2008-04-14 16:12Hi all,
Have been struggling of late to land any decent fish from the beach.
Unfortunately due to having no license atm,(hurry up June)i have been pretty much stuck to the Quinns area.
I used to fish from the beach often here but the last 12 months have brought me little joy. I fish to the south of the main carpark.
I have also been trying at Mindarie Marine on the outer groin up the end. However i much prefer the beach.
On the search for the ever elusive Mulloway or even a few good Tailor... Patience i have plenty of.
I am planning to go to Flat Rock/Wilbinga area this week end coming with a few friends.
I have been using a weighted ganged mulie which has just been feeding the scrappers i think.
Can anyone give me any advice to improve my poor rate of success. I am willing to mix it up a little.
Perhaps i need to burley up? Change to Bluebait? or try different rigs. What's the preferred rig for my situation?
What are peoples thoughts on the use of glow sticks? They do help me at night...
I pretty much want to stay targeting Mulloway and Tailor.
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Regards, Stuart

Henderson Shark
Submitted by BlackSonEmpire on Sun, 2008-04-06 20:36hey there finally after many bustoffs I have landed a decent shark from the local 4x4 beach. caught a heap of scalies the night before a beach fishing trip, thought they were gonna do the trick but strangely only pickers were taking the scalies this night. We paddled the baits out for last drop, (yeah with the canoe) this time loaded up with the usual scalies, but one with a whole squid on a snelled wire trace. another 45 mins passed with nothing so started packin up all the gear and winding in the rods, when the last rod, with the squid went off! 25 mins later and this little bronzie was on the tray. gave 4-5 solid runs this time the favourable way down the beach away from the nasty jettys.
Heading down south on friday night

Hillarys rigs?
Submitted by Turbo on Wed, 2008-03-12 18:19Can anyone give me advice on a good rig to use down at Hillarys?
Went down there early morning the other day and didnt get a single bite in 3 hours.
Was using unweighted mulies on a 3 hook gang with wire trace behind aqua - not a thing
Then tried running sinker to swivel with whitebait on a small gang, no trace, inside the marina - blowies
Would like to catch a tailor but happy with anything!!
Is night preffered over morning and what line strength?
Cheers for any help!
