Towing

G'day   Just like your opinion. Looking at a Dodge Ram Laramie which has a 4.5 tonne towing rating. With a 5.7 ltr petrol motor. My boat is a 7 mtr leisure cat which is 4 tonne with half a tank of fuel.I know it will pull it but will it be to heavy on the car.The tow rating is correct with the 1500 Laramie. Currently towing with an f 250 and that sags in the arse a bit with only leave springs. The dodge has coil springs.your views

Rear Axle Load

Check the rear axle load, I've heard that while the Ram has a 4.5t tow capacity, it's axle load isn't that flash. Not 100% sure, just comments I have heard.

Cheers,

BD.

In my opinion the petrol motor will cost you a packet. Better upgrading the springs in the f250. Assuming it's diesel . I know what I would be doing

Check GVM & GCM on the Dodge. Ive heard the 1500s suffer the same GVM/GCM issues as the 200 series. Really need to go to 2500 truck towing that weight

Most utes that claim 3.5t towing suffer from the same issue as well
