Help Back on the Bream fishing again after many years

Guys

Any good tips on what is the go for local river fishing for bream now days, son at the age now to hit the river with dad and dad requiring info whats the go since being away from the area for some time. Spent my life fishing the spits in the shelly river location when younger using baits, now I see the Plastic and luers are the go. Will be looking at boat and land based fishing in the swan.

Any ideas out there???????

Many Thanks

up stream Reddog. A good spot is up near Lilac Hill oval at the moment. If you have a boat, tossing into the reeds up that way should pay off.

Do the old feather jigs still work on the faltties or is there new toys out there more effective now days? and is the old sugar factory and Swan yatch club still hot spots for the flatheads?

Go fishing it is fun

still work well. Particularly with all the blowies in the river. The prawn stars are alos good in that regard.

Maylands

I reckon Maylands is a great spot for bream.

Im on the water by 5am and the blowies dont show up til after 7am usually.

I use a whole river prawn on a #4 or #2 baitholder and cast it into the snags. (About 200m down river from Maylands boat launch is a favourite spot of mine)

Lose a few rigs but always catch a few Bream - an accurate cast makes a huge difference in my opinion.

Good luck
