Don't you just hate it when you go into the garage to start getting all your gear ready for a trip to Shark Bay and there is is a horrible stench seeping from the bait freezer !
Opened the the lid and HOLY SHIT, I nearly keeled over. All my squid and occy I had for the trip was a festering mess.
Not sure when the freezer died but I reckon it must have been at least a week ago.
Looks like there will be a few quick squid runs over the next week.......

That absolutely sucks mate, sorry to hear.
Have had it happen at our holiday place when son's girlfriend pulled out the freezer to use a hair dryer and forgot to plug it back in.
Fast forward two weeks when we arrive to a stench from hell, there was also a carpet of dead blow flies to deal with FFS

Yep - have had similar when I got one last thing out of the freezer before we went away and as i shut it, something (kangaroo tail i think) fell down so the door didnt shut properly.
I could smell it as i opened the gate when we got home and the contents of the freezer had had liquified

Such a waste of bait.
Nothing beats fresh squid for bait up north.
Always go fully stocked.

How good is Cockburn Sound, 3 morning runs during the last week and 90 squid in the portable freezer ready to head north. My son even found me a replacement freezer for free on facebook. Shark Bay here we come !
