Fish ID - Gnaraloo Cod

Caught this cod at Gnaraloo. Was bloody big. Can anyone advise what type it is?

looks bit like an eight bar grouper, that escaped from prison :-) lost its stripes.

could be a Bass grouper they live up that way usually in 300 plus feet of water. heap of filllets there. do you own a fish and chip shop? hahaha.

We caught this in 40m so I dont think its a bass grouper. Got me stumped what it is

No white tips
But it doesn't have the white tips to the fins and tail Andy. Well done on your Gnaraloo trip by the way.
Piggy - the tail looks very small for a fish that size or is it just the camera angle?
