75 Honda surging

Coming in from fishing at half throttle, motor slows then surges slows then surges.
We were able to get in by going slow and squeezing primer bulb the whole way. Any ideas ?? cheers

Water
Water in your fuel system would be my guess. Check your separator bulb to see if there's any water in it, then work your way up towards the motor.

I had the same problem with
I had the same problem with my boat with a Mercruiser V8. Replaced the primary fuel filter and still happening. Then I found out there was a secondary filter which was full of sludge. If not water then this is possibly the issue.
