We are still a few anglers short for this amazing trip, and there is a chance we may have to cancel if we don't get the numbers....TOTALLY GUTTED..:(
I can't believe there aren't a few keen fishos out there who wouldn't like to experience the fishing trip of a lifetime. Why spend thousands of dollars on gear you don't need or will never be able to put to the ultimate test. The cost of a new state of the art spinning reel and rod would have this trip half paid for...If you went on a long range 'day' charter once a month for a year and even if it was the best fishing you've ever had.....it wouldn't touch the challenge of deep jigging the undersea cliffs of Kenn Reef, or throwing poppers at 40kg GTs in a lagoon at Fredericks Reef, or having 20 hook ups on wahoo up to 50kg in a morning session outside Wreck Reef...let alone the untapped billfish opportunities.......but I'm being a bit selfish...I REALLY want to go to The Coral Sea again......take up the challenge guys
There are a chain of reefs located off the Australian/Queensland Coast known as the Coral Sea Island Territories. This chain of reefs is one of the most remote and inaccessible systems of reefs in the world. Of the 16 reefs in the system, the closest to land is 180nm, the furtherest out is 380nm.
A truly wild place, one of the last frontiers for hardcore sportfishing on earth.
Multiple hook-ups on tackle destroying gamefish are common, as are incredible wipeouts that will leave you stunned.
24-37kg stand up and jigging gear is normal, with 15kg outfits being very sporting. The fish here either get big or get eaten.
Species targeted at reefs such as Saumarez, Wreck, Kenn and Fredericks include Black Marlin, Potential World Record Sailfish to over 100kg!,Yellowfin Tuna, Dogtooth Tuna(+100kg), Giant Trevally(up to70kg), Wahoo(to 50kg), Mahi Mahi, Jobfish, Huge Oceanic Coral Trout, Giant Red Bass and many more.
The Mothership
KANIMBLA is a 25m/82ft Aluminium ship whose catamaran design provides maximum stability at sea. Her wide beam and 3 levels afford a spacious living area and plenty of deck space for fishing and diving activities.
All living areas are fully air-conditioned.
Dine and relax in the Saloon which is equipped with TV, DVD, Video and Sound System.
To further enhance your fishing experience they carry a fleet of 6 Webster Twin Fisher dinghies which allow you to access reef environments.
The Twin Fishers are also of a catamaran design offering space and stability. Each dinghy has a 25hp outboard, depth sounder, safety gear and a UHF radio
If you have always dreamt of that ultimate gamefishing trip, and thought it was only for the rich and famous, dream no longer.

This is a very, very good price....below are some comments from Flywest

That is an amazingly good price for such a trip!.
Last night, I compared it online - to the same trip on Nomad charters, mothership - with the two gamefishing boats and 2 x Kevla Fly fishing dorys...to the same locations for about the same duration.
http://www.gofishaustralia.com/artman/publish/cat_index_64.shtml
No change from Aus $10K P/P ex Hervey Bay to fish those same reefs for about the same time - you get flown out there on a seaplane to meet the mothership & 20 kilo carry aboard luggage is MAX allowed per passenger! (Cloteds & Tackle for 10 days????...my fly tying kit weighs that!)
Seems awfully cheap opportunity to fish some very remote spots, under little pressure, to me. 25% of the cost if you booked that similar trip thru a booking agent in the USA to stay on Nomad..
What Seansurfy is offering here is the trip of a lifetime at those prices IMHO comming from someone - "in the game".

FWBDO
Submitted by jay_burgess on Sat, 2006-08-19 17:59Fishwrecked Big Day Out... kinda got this idea from WAngler but I think it would be kool to get all the fishwrecked crew together for a fish.
Quite a bit of planning involved and it would have to be at a location where most people could get to quite easily (midwest?) and during a time when people could get away and have time off work etc..
I wouldn't expect anything to happen too soon but just an idea for the future. The sooner we get the idea out there, the sooner we can make it happen.
Look forward to hearing other peoples oppinions and whether or not they would be interested in something like this in the future.
Cheers.

THE BEST BLUEWATER SPORT FISHING ON THE PLANET
Submitted by seansurfy on Wed, 2006-08-09 08:26Hi Guys,
I thought some of the members and guests may be interested in an upcoming trip I'm going on in November. I've done three of these trips previously, and it is truly mind blowing. If you're intersted, follow the links to the websites. We have 10 spots to fill.....Normally, it's nearly immpossible to get on one of these trips, they're booked out well in advance. I don't think they will last long.

Where do you recommend for a first fishing trip to Australia?
Submitted by galeintokyo on Sun, 2006-07-09 16:26Hey there,
Thinking about coming down that way from Tokyo towards the end of the year. I'd like to do some jigging and casting for whatever's biting. Tuna, GT, dogtooth, or whatever else is biting. I'd love to hear you guys' ideas about what's happening. If anyone could give me a solid idea on the cost of a days fishing out there, that's be great too. Thanks!

JURIEN SHACKS
Submitted by max199 on Sun, 2006-06-11 19:24I've heard of a few people who have been to beach side shacks and seen some around Perth outer metro areas in the past but never the ones a bit further up north around Jurien Bay, until Friday...
A blown up picture, " i have it behind the dunnie door so it reminds me of the good old days" was the comment, and what a picture it was.
A little bay about 14km north of Jurien which the name I can't remember, with about 4-5 shacks nestled together and this one that was partly owned (and council rates divided up, $900 p/a), protected by the SWesterlies, looked like a fisho's heaven!
I heard a couple of envious stories from Big Al's past there and would've loved to have visited there. Now they are all gone and so is the councils rates?
Have YOU been to a shack in the past and what incredible stories do you remember?

Exmouth 06
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Tue, 2006-05-16 14:01I thought I should kick off the new forum, especially considering the talk has started to heat up a bit lately with a few reports from Exmouth about the fishing fortunes. We are leaving on July 2nd for 2 weeks, so nearly 7 weeks away until departure. (cant half tell I'm looking foward to it)
We've got Spooled and the Port Hedland mobsters joining us in the 2nd week, which should be verrrrry interesting. Might have to be a few friendly fishing competitions based upon Andy Mac's system, with the points being changed to a beer tab. You had better start casting in the paddling pond paulie. :) Jokes jokes.
Really looking foward to it and as the wise man Gribbo would say:
Dont worry about me man, just worry bout me rods.

Exmouth 06
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Fri, 2006-02-24 13:17We've booked Exmouth from the 3rd of July for 10 nights. Theres a lot of people headed there soon, so the amp is going to be awesome for us when we finally get there. There's going to be the Gamex reports along with the Exmouth Game Fishing Club's reports every week. We had a ball last year and didn't know exactly what we were doing.. This year will be better yet, if anyone's heading up there around that time, let us know, we leave the friday the first week of school holidays.
Can't Wait!! Anyone else heading up before then or wants to catch up while where there is more than welcome. Going to be awesome.

Kalbarri Sports Fishing Classic
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Mon, 2006-01-23 16:46The Kalbarri Offshore & Angling Club
Invites you back to the
largest annual organised fishing event in the Mid-West, the
“KALBARRI SPORTS FISHING CLASSIC”
in its 20th year.
A Game-fishing, Bottom-fishing and River Tournament
The 2006 “Classic” is nearly upon us and we have been busy organising and readying ourselves for this our 20th “Classic”
We thank you for your participation last year and welcome you back on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of March this year for another great competition.
This year we have changed the max bag limit in the bottom section to 7 fish as there has been some confusion in the past, and we have evened the boat size sections to under 6m, 6m to 7m and over 7m. These boat divisions should see an even number of boats in each section.
The game section remains the same but please be aware that as last year only two brands of line are acceptable: Platypus Pretest and Black Magic Pretest. If your reels have anything else it is advised to change to one of the above brands.
The river section remains the same and we would like to encourage more live fish brought in to be tagged and released. Our river is important to us.
We would like to welcome onboard our major sponsors: The Kalbarri Motor Hotel where we have the weigh-in and Works Infrastructure who are doing the utilities for the big development at Red Bluff.
Entry forms have been sent to most tackle shops in WA and all fishing clubs in the Yellow Pages. Ask for one at your usual tackle shop. Please be aware that we are encouraging pre entry and this should be done by 10th February 2006. You may enter after that date but there is an extra “late entry fee” and we cannot guarantee “T” shirts and “Classic” packs for late entries.
I wish you tight lines and great weather and hope to see you up here on the Labour Day Week End. More info is available by emailing me your name and address and an info pack will be sent to you. A competition booklet with all the rules & regulations will be available at the briefing.
Regards
Laurie Malton

Walpole Fishing Spots-Scenery
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Sat, 2005-10-22 09:36A few of the spots we tried for black bream.. We got into a few small ones, but it was pretty heavily shut down because of the water movement. If you want to have a look at all the pictures from the trip, have a look at the scenery gallery.

This isn't a photo of the actual steps, just to the right of them.
Walpole Water Levels
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Sat, 2005-10-22 09:27Went down to Walpole over the week.. I will post a few forums topics about the different situations.. Apparently there had been huge amounts of rain and hail storms down there a couple of days before we got there.. Not understanding quite how heavy it had been we tried fishing out in the Nornalup/Walpole inlet only to discover that the water was pitch black and almost tasted fresh.
Took a few photos out near the mouth of water movement and how black it was.. The whole of the ocean as far as the eye could see was black inlet water and even travelling 10 kms down the coast to blue holes and bellanger beach resulted in chocolate barrels and very unfishy looking water. Beach fishing was given a miss as a result.
