Bream HB Loop Knot

Bream HB Loop Knot

Gang

I've just been trying to tie a Perfection Loop in 8lb fluoro carbon leader and with my sausage like fingers, it was as John Cooper Clark would say - a rock solid.............waste of time! Yell

So I came across this knot and it's much easier - and I've tested it and seems to hold a good portion of the original line strength. As always - don't forget to wet it first before you clinch the knot.

Maybe on heavier line - but on 6 or 8 lb FC, I found the above knot easier. I personally found it easier to keep track of the line and loops under and between my 'fat banger' fingers LOL.

Give them both a go with very light line and see what you think.

Tommo - ok, I'M NO EXPERT - but that, I believe is ONE loop knot where you believe a loop (and knot) is better than a just a knot. It comes down to preferences I guess. As to loops - many would say that loops are better for hard bodies because they ensure unconstrained action of that HB lure, yet others, that I know catch plenty of bream are happier to use (and describe as good) clips, such as the Decoy round snaps. I don't use loop knots when tying on a std hook.

Jay - 40Lb! That's cheating - go find some thread and start tying LOL
