I have a Daiwa Tierra 1500
I have a Daiwa Tierra 1500 and 6ft ultra light T-curve (nothing like a mongrel...). 8lb braid, Herring feel like salmon.
Tierra 4000 with 20lb and tierra 7ft flick stick, sweet for flicking at tuna, softies and even vertical jigging ambers when there is nothing else with a jig on it.....

the 2
from the boat its a 7' Live Fibre Texalium 2-4kg with a stradic 4000 on it (so much fun with these tuna schools, takes a while to get them in!)
then from the shore its a Live Fibre Trophy 9' with a stradic 5000 - nice and light weight, easy to use all day flicking from the beach at tailor or salmon.

personally i dont think its
personally i dont think its a strong reel at all, but thats just my opinion, oceanside stocks those should speak to honsu about it! you want a good combo in ray and annes the daiwa heartland combo is one of the best i reckon!
Edit: the sale is finished for the combo.

e-gee
not a strong reel? hmmm i have recently purchased one of these e-gee's and i beleive it is a very strong reel. so far mine has accounted for sambos, to squid . keep in mind being a 2506 it is a "finese" style reel so you dont get much drag out of it at all but how much drag would you expect out of a squidding reel any ways. for the price i beleive they are a fantastic buy . brenz

Flick rod combo I like my
Flick rod combo I like my certate 2000 bosco 4-12. Super light and caught me heaps of good fish. For fish over 3kg its landed: dhuies, pinkies, amberjacks, sambos, SBT's, stripeys, shark mackies, salmon, eagle ray, etc. So much fun on a light rod. Its a little floppy and sucks for casting light lures, but loads up super quick which makes it fun and versatile
For finesse stuff, I like my sic stik pro 1-3kg. Loads up awesomely on bream and herring and super flicky tip.

My Starlo Stix with my Okuma
My Starlo Stix with my Okuma reel works extremely well. 12lb Fireline and it's caught plenty, including GT's and cods up at Shark Bay a couple of years back.
Cheers

Realy like
My Sicky (sic stix) 1-3kg with a crap reel imo on it, an Okuma Vsystem V-30a. Would love to replace it with a SOL etc at some stage, but gets little use up here.
The fish will kill this combo, especially where we go. Would be nice to use it and gaurantee that something huge dont jump on it, as the Sicky has been a constant companion for many years now.
Probably the lightest flicky type I have now is a Berkley dropshot Pro 3-5kg (I think) with a Shimano Saragosa 4000.

Haha
sorry mate, it's an older FH. I use it alot so it's been loved and looked after. Never seen a reason to replace it. It goes together beautifully, it run 6lb and 8lb fireline on it and it's knocked over Salmon up to 5kg from shore and even a 10kg Sambo from a tinny. Gee, that took a while though
