fiday nights shark sesh
decided earlier in the week that i would hit up some sharks last night out off hillarys . we hit the ramp at 6.45 pm only to be greeted with close to 0 knot winds and an ocean that could only be described as a mirror so in went the boat as well as my mate tysons boat and we were off. we got to the spot shortly after and anchored up straight away the sounder had lit up . as we were on my snapper spots it was quite obviouse what the distinct arks were on the sounder wich frustrated me beyond beleif knowing i was only 6 mt away from boating some shallow water pinks but we were there for sharks so thats what we proceeded to target for obviouse reasons(demersal ban). filled the berly pot up with all the goodies and out went the baloons wich was a particularly hard task as there was no wind. after half an hour we were on and a short time later we had a nice little 2-3 ft specimen on the boat. next nelly was up with a short hard run followed by silence . thinking the bait was dropped he started reeling in the line when zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz of it went theis was a much larger shark wich only stayed connected for 5-10 more seconds before it all went slack .... damn all over. another hour passed with no more joy so we decided to pack it up only to find the berly pot had been bitten off only meters under the boat lol.
all in all a fantastic night and will be hitting it up again sooner rather than later.
