trophy v cruisecraft v anything else?

Hi guys

thinking of upgrading my boat, just curious on your opinion on which

boat u would go for in the 6-7m range,

which boat rides better, which boat has most deck space etc, positives and negatives.

Thanks

Cruisecraft

Hi Synthos

What engine do you have on the 575 Cruisecraft. I am looking at one at the moment (575 Outsider) and am yet to decide on an engine.

What speed do you get out of it and are you happy with your choice?

Cheers

Brad

He's got a 115 yamaha Fourstroke. I think its good power. I think the 150 would be slightly too heavy IMHO.

well there are plenty of Trophys for sale on the net after looking but for me i'm looking aussie made so i have warranty/help from the workshops who built them so a haines, seafarer, cruisecraft, tournament is where i'll be looking but i seached on here and found a thread about cruisecrafts and trophys and it seems they ride pretty bloody well, if thats the way you go the next question is to import or get a second hand one from oz already here.

The only way to tell is go and have a look, research all you can and get out for a ride in one, looks are one thing but stability, hull performance in sloppy weather and dryness can only be seen out on the water. Best of luck and make sure you get it right, it's a lot of coin to spend to get it wrong and regret your purchase.

I did the bill fish comp in a cruise craft and in my opinion they didn't seem to have alot of deck space for their size. good for family but did get crowded even with three fishing.

Fri, 2011-01-14 11:42

Trophy is way drier and softer ride than a Cruisecraft. I had a 2052 Trophy and those that have been out on it can tell you I took it everywhere and rode it hard. It's a poor mans Boston Whaler in my books

Ask Peter D as well, hard to fault and loads of extras standard. The walkaround it nice to have, nice small usable cabin. If I got another one, I'd get the outboard version instead of the inboard, as you loose some deck space.

I looked very closely for a long period of time at both of these boats. I think they are both similar in terms of deck space but in the end I couldn't go past all the standard fittings on the Trophy which was not included on the Cruise Crafts.

As Tony mentioned, I went with the outboard version and upgraded to a 175 Mercury Optimax.

Pete D has the diesel 2052, now 2152? Its a great boat, good fuel economy and range. It isn't that fast though so depends on what you want it for.

looked at cruise craft vs haines hunter vs seafarer

seafarer was great but too small a fuel tank in the one i could have got a deal on . well finished and heavily built

would have gone it if all was right.

cruise craft lovely looking but cabin not long enough to sleep streched out in. lighter built hull than haines and seafarer even tho longer and less dead rise than haines.

went haines as it had the lot and got the deal. heavy built and sturdy as.

never been in a trophy but they look good.

try them all though.

Haines signature 650F

Sat, 2011-01-15 23:06

Not as smooth riding as some more modern deep vees but more stable at rest and tracks true in any sea.. great boat in ugly water.. I have had mine out in 30+ knot winds and still fished. Lots of deck space, hip high gunnels and lots of under floor storage. A lot more solid built than boats today too

I got one for sale at the right price...make me an offer

Hey mate you end up selling your 650f?

Im potentially looking at buying one down in bunbury atm it has a 150 optimax on it.

What are your thoughts on these boats? They look BIG in the photos! Not sure if i need something of that size but it sure is tempting! do you think the 150 is underpowered for it?

been in a cruise craft 6.25 a few times, with a 200 etec on the back, does 42 knots from memory, nice boat, good ride, esp in the Dampier chop, and doesnt seem to bang too much for a cab.

Come have a look

Tue, 2011-01-18 09:16

Come and have look at one of our 670 Allrounders. Heaps of deck space and can run up to 225hp in wanted.

New deck layout has increase space again, and new underfloor layout gives big kill tanks and 250 ltrs fuel.

Cheers

possibly will, the fight will be on whether we take the cruisecraft or the coraline down, probably the coraline at the moment. I'll post a thread for the boat.
