Today

Did anyone get out today??
Was down at Austal shipbuilding yards at henderson and the sound looked flat as a tack and by the looks of seabreeze it seemed alright on there.

So did anyone catch anything??? or were you all good boys and didnt chuck sickies lol

From what I can gather

Tue, 2009-03-10 20:08

the FADS copped a hammering - perfect conditions to get out there though, so it was to be expected I guess. Driving past the Sound was gut wrenching - looked phenomenally good. One day I wanted to pull a sickie, but quite possibly the worst given the amount of work we had on - sucks balls......

Had to go down to Coral Bay and get a freezer today, managed to get a couple of hours on the water in great conditions.  Magic inside the lagoon!! :)

Not for me anyway. Wish I had. All the workers turned up too (for a change). If I knew they would do that every day I would get heaps of fishing in.. LOL

Got out but it was pretty

Tue, 2009-03-10 21:31

Got out but it was pretty dead where I was fishing. So dead in fact that I could drop a 10g jighead on a softie and it got to the bottom in 40m directly below me, no wind and no current!

Brilliant conditions -  a mate and I took a "Managers In Depth Discussion Day) - well we dont play golf so surely that is fair enough.

Motored out at 28 knots for 25 nm, fished 50 - 60 metres for a specimen black arse, three dhu (two released safely) and four snapper the largest being 65cm and the other three were all very fat for their size.

Motored back in at 31 knots and could easily have gone quicker but silly to drink more juice than needed for a comfortable ride.

Oddly whilst the winds were light to non-existent the drift was fairly rapid needing 24 ounce leads to hold bottom ?? drift was consistent toward the SW
