Tantabiddi boat ramp etiquette

 Hi all,

Last year was a bit confused with the order of retreival at Tantabiddi. Normally here NOR it is as the boats line up coming in but up there it seemed to be as the cars lined up to retrieve thus you could drop off someone on the ramp then go out a bit and wait.

Never seen it at any other ramp. Happy to do whatever just want to go with the flow

Boat order.

As Rob said. No good for solo or family. As long as people are quick, move up or down the jetty to make room it works ok. Being polite, patient and help each other out where need be makes a difference too.

 Just retrieve like a normal

Just retrieve like a normal ramp. Don't worry about what the whale boat clowns do.

There is no sign that says you have to do what the whale boats tell you...

One rule wont work at all ramps...

Wed, 2022-06-22 16:13

Car first simply wont work at ramps like woodies or point perron .... jettys both sides of ramp , people come in to jetty and tie up , boats are coming in behind them ,  You queue up and wait your turn ... if someones mucking about or has a minor problem then you wait ,,,, one day you maybe slow for some reason and

would wont people to give you a break..does people good to learn how to be patient sometimes...

Ramps up north are different so I just try to do what the local do....

 Even with clearly marked

Even with clearly marked ramps like at woodies nobody follows the signs the amount of times people launch from retrieve lanes even when launching lanes are empty pisses me off.

 We launched there last week

Sun, 2022-07-17 07:57

We launched there last week and found the southern ramp to nearly be unusable. Certainly couldn't launch there. My mate hit a rock just before the jetty and bent his stainless steel prop and I thankfully hit the sand just before the rocks. Boat beside me heading for the northern side of the southern jetty hit two rocks.

Plenty of boats turning around at launch time due to the unworkable tide.

On the way in, were able to retrieve at the southern ramp by all hopping out and pushing the boat over the sand
