try

For mulloway try just a normal running sinker set up with a live trumpter/yellowtail/herring etc.. or just a whole tailor or half a tailor depending on how strong ur rods casting is. then put a chem light on but make sure its not close to the bait or else it might spook em. keep a bit of slack on your line so your running sinker works though. ussually u can catch good live bait there like tailor on the southern side with twistys. but up to u =D for bream just try an bream lure or soft plastic. and also try whole prawns and just hope the blowies arent in

Make sure you take some metal lures with you cos there is usually decent amounts of tailor.

Davo i think you should stop wasting your time trying for tailor there. go to south metro beaches this summer on a calm hot night and and use blue sardines or white bait .

I will give u the beach where i catch every time by private email.

thats a crock, theres plenty there

i havnt been for a week or so but james goes down alot and he rekons there about!

last 3 times I have been there has been plenty

yes you can fish the south metro beaches for tailor but narrows is a totally different style of tailor fishing, its also much easier and ALOT less stinkier!

davy have you tried fishing an incoming tide at night when its abit barmy?

Does it sound stinky when i say i've caught snapper over 10kg's from the sand and tailor over 1kg there. Also theres plenty of massive mulloway.

you obviously dont see what

Sat, 2009-11-07 19:30

you obviously dont see what im saying.

your telling this bloke theres no tailor there and I objected

and this topic has nothing to do with snapper or mulloway Undecided

and even though you have caught many great fish your still using bait

I also dont doubt that your spot is great and very effective

but what im trying to say is that narrows is a great easy place to catch tailor atm

you basically take a little flicky and cast around on the incoming at night

it doesnt require all the effort of beach fishing, I never recall saying that you get bigger tailor there at all

I think you should think before you post arrogant statements that are not true

Year i know what that is anyway river fishing bores me once you've been game fishing on shelf or fly fishing at the fads hooked up to a dolly you will say the same as me

Just cos you dont enjoy it

Sat, 2009-11-07 23:48

Just cos you dont enjoy it doesnt mean you have to shut other people down mate,

not everyone has boats or even ones that can take them to the shelf and FADs

not everyone has the opportunity to do those things, theres no need for arrogance, theres nothing wrong with having the occassional flick at narrows for some tailor on a barmy night, it doesnt require the effort and planning of other styles of fishing.

Just nice and warm but really pleasant.

We tend to use 10-15g metals(knights, twisties), the gillies whitebaits are good also

shallow diving minnows like the small yozuri crystal minnows work well

I also landed the first of the season on a smith camion....but that would be an expensive way to catch river tailorTongue out

David not having a shot at

Sun, 2009-11-08 08:59

David

not having a shot at you but:

schecky is just telling me that there are plenty of tailor the atm and he is also sayin that they are a bit less of a hassle then having to rig up and send out a big bait a mile out to sea

true the fish might not be as big or as healthy as there ocean cousins but catching a tailor is catching a tailor its still fun

and what schecky said is right, you dont have to eat everything you catch.

and you know more than anyone how much of a lousy fisherman i am compared to you or anyone else for that matter.

and any advice i get i take it on board,

really all this site is about is tellin everyone what you caught and sharing your advice with others.

lets keep this a bickering free site.

cheers

Dave

Have to agree David, others have their own opinions, sure you can share yours, but shooting down others isn't welcome here.  Same goes with your comments for hselehung.
