HDS

I'm running the hds 10 with a hds 7 plotter, very happy with it. Has amazing detail and the bottom lock is awesome - basically the same as the 5 but bigger screen. Had a Furuno 585 & 1kw combo on another boat and was a bit of a gamble to go away from Furuno but i am more than happy with the HDS.

What sort of price did you pay Moylee and did you get them locally?  We are still in the process for our work sounder and the hds5x seems the goer at the moment.

2900 for the HDS10 & 1100 for HDS7M plotter - got them from BIAS - word of warning though, dont get sucked in to buying the Navionics platnum cartography - its no better than the XL9 Gold chart. Yes, its got photo overlay and 3D but thats about it - nothing of any great use really for the extra $$$$

Love my hds5x. prefere it over a 585 furuno. (Probally just stired a hornets nest) but thats my personal preference.

I bought a hds5 combo at the mandurah boat show for $1300 with an xl9 gold card last october, used it a few times, seem to get a bit on noise interference at low speed but that may be just user error at the moment until I get to sort it out properly but it does a very good job at high speeds.

bought one from BIAS too for $799 at last years boat show... has taken a while to get the reading right (had too much interference) - though now I have turned the sensitivity setting to manual it works a treat:)  last weekend i even saw my bait go down to the bottom...was fishing in 30m...
