Sun up and Sun set are the best time's, haven't been there my self for about a year or more, I was using a small red wall plug and burley, we also used squid tentacles as well, try a bottom rig setup, long leader with a running sinker.

Some good KG advice was
Some good KG advice was posted by Ryan Thripthorp under "window fishing" search that for starters. Although that's more based to offshore - principles may hold true.
Look for weed banks, I have found squid good bait on paternoster rig, minimal weight, light lines, cast to edges of weed (not too close = wrasse, not too far = blowies and no KG's).
Good luck, or if feeling m,iore adverturous treck to pengo Island and try north-western side in rock, weed, sand holes. Some monsters lurk in there mate. Take goggles and snorkel round - u will seee em'.
