Hi tech research on Pink Snapper in Coburn sound! Fish can have a sender in their body for research!!

In a current West Australian fishing magazine is an article that could be very important to read if you fish for snapper in Coburn Sound and surrounding area's.

Coburn Sound has been inundated with hi tech receivers that collect date from senders actualy surgecly installed inside the body of loads of snappers (and sharks.) to study their behaviour.

A must know for those that catch snapper in Coburn sound.

If you catch one then they ask if you could put it back or if you have to take it home, return the "pinger" for a reward Tel; 0203 0111

Or email; david.fairclough@fish.wa.gov.au

It is a very interesting article!

Usually have two yellow tags on the same side of the fish.  I'm sure one says 'acoustic tag'.  Was an interesting read...missus has thrown my mag out arrgh.

Cheers Pete
