Im taking up a bunch of octa 200g jigs in yellows and 200g lucanus in blue got some knife jigs and some other jigs, this weekend is about jigging to me. but will be taking bait as well, squid and mulies...  boat is 18" half cab any info they might increase our chances of catching appreciated.

Octo jigs!

They work really well out on the coral patches between the banks...approx 15nm southwest of the marina...for baldies. Try to go lighter than 200g if you can, though.

Out the back of the lighthouse, in about 33m, there's some bits and pieces of broken up ground that attracts steady numbers of snapper, sambos and dhuies. I've only jigged this area once or twice for no result, but bait wasn't working that day either!

Inside the bay, especially if the swell's up, there are lots of lumps in 10-20m that get BIG snapper and average size dhufish.  We fish these from 4 pm until a couple of hours into darkness and light gear with soft plastics is the go! The placcies don't even have to be the glow-in-the-dark ones either!

Fishing Fan: prey do tell? lol- unfortunately we dont have a 4wd, just a beat up old forrestor that will do the job, is the drive a bit further sealed?
