No way am I going to hand in my firearms. The price they are offering is an absolute insult. Wont give this putrid government anything voluntarily. Its not law yet and we are still in the fight. I would rather put an axe through them and give them back than hand them in so Wapol can re sell them which is a box on the form they want you to tick. This whole thing has been a massive over reach by a government bordering on a dictatorship worthy of putins russia. Lies. Lies and more lies to scare people into submission.
Not directed at you mate , sorry if it sounded that way. If you can use it to your advantage to buy an upgrade would make sense. I am fed up with the bullshit put forward by the government and media that only targets law abiding people. Had my firearms for 40 years and not so much as a speeding ticket in that time but will loose everything because of a pack of lieing rats not to mention all my hunting gear, thermal optics, lights, scopes ect that will be virtually worthless as the market will be flooded with people in the same boat. Post a picture of your new gat mate for some positive firearms news
Hi A bit off topic but I have got a very old double barrel shotgun that was my fathers. It is a damascus twist barrel and has no identifying markings except Birmingham proof marks that are pre 1904.A bloke that knows about these things saw photos and thinks it was made in Belgium around 1860. I am looking to sell it and was hoping somebody here would if there are people or companies that deal in these things.

It'll cost you half of that
It'll cost you half of that just to get it put on your licence ($250?) and bet your bottom dollar they wont be rushing to process your application

Let me make it clear, I
Let me make it clear, I don't support what they are up to but this is a 17 Rem that I've had for 20+ years and never put a shot through it.
An uncle gave it to me in last buy back unregistered.
I got it Rego'd and have since sold a Khales scope for $500, I figure If i sell the action for $500 I'll use that to buy another....
If I thought I could get more for it elsewhere then I would....

Keeping
I'm keeping mine, a 1947 Lithgow hornet, bought it off a mate after the first buyback,
I had to hand in a 22 automatic and got $300 for it, put in $50 more to get the hornet

Be careful what you wish for Andy, they will want your new ones as well and pay you 30% of the market value to boot.

Whatever you do don't fire
Whatever you do don't fire it.
Modern shells even lower power will destroy a Damascus barrel

Modern shells
I took it to a gunsmith in Bunbury about 40 years ago and he put the fear of god into me about using it.
