Coral Bay New Years

G'day all
Spending new years with the boyz in Coral Bay, be there from the 27/12/08 to the 3/1/09, Stay at the Bayview Caravan Park so if anyones up that way at that time let me know and we will catch up for a beer and if you don't have a boat im sure i can get ya a spot on mine or one of the boyz boat.
Now the question?
I know about the s/zones for spear fishing in coral bay but is it still a good idea to take the gun or better to just leave it at home.
Can ya still get good fish out in the deeper water out of the s/zone or am i just kidding myself.
We all dive so the cray better watch out.

Forget the gun unless you want to do some bluewater spearing, mackies/wahoo etc. Other wise your only real option is spearing spango's (lotsa sanctuaries to be careful of). Your in the marine park at Cbay which means, no trout, no tuskfish, no any of the tasties you want to go spearing for.

Thanks Adam I though that was the case, i've never be there before so i though i'd ask the question, Thats the best thing about this site, you talk to people that know there stuff.
