Bunbury/South West Kayak fishing

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to take my kayak out to have a bit of fun on wednesday? I've finally got my fishfinder installed and will be ready to go, no GPS yet though.

I've heard peppy beach about 1-2km off is going alright, but not sure where I'd launch from there. Got a 4x4 hilux, so beach launching is not a problem, but I'm trying not to go too far from home in Bunno (got a 7 week old baby at home, and only got a few hours leave pass).

Any Salmon being caught I could try trolling for?

Cheers!

I'd launch at the spur groyne past Marlston Hill. See if you can set up two rods whilst trolling as theres heaps of herring around and some noises about Salmon too. Halco twisty for the herring and a Smiling Jack trolled slightly fuerther behind should do the trick.

Thanks Perry, I think that might be the go-er. At least then I'm maximising my fishing time rather than driving. I didn't even think of launching from there for some reason, I guess because I've never had much luck off bunbury before, so I usually go off the beach either at forrest or up at buffalo. Having a look at google maps, I Might even head out a big further off of Koombana bay and see if I can find a bit of structure to fish off.
