Braid scissors
Submitted by Colin Hay on Mon, 2008-06-30 11:57
Does anyone have a particular brand or type of braid scissors they prefer? I have a cheap pair of Berkley scissors and they are not that flash.
Any input appreciated
Thanks, Colin Hay

Split ring pliers
I have braid cutters on my split ring pliers so I use them , I never fish with out my pliers on my rod belt so its easy for me , they cut mono up to 150lb and braid down to 6lb , real happy with them .
Just about all my fishing is done off a split ring swivel connection so it pays for me to carry the pliers all the time .

I'm using
DUO's , ali handles and stainless jaws , the jaws are replacable too if you break them, but I use them on Owner hyperwires up to size 11H and had no problem yet , and the cutters are protected on the inside of the jaws so they can't be damaged, I have really given them a hard time and they are still going strong( but now I have said that they will probably break next trip out
) I think they were about $80 from Bluewater in Scarbs .

The best
If your looking for the best then fisherman brand pliers are the go , but at around $350 or so there too good for me , they have titanium cutters on them ( also replacable) they are the best I have seen by far, Accurate and Van Stall make a decent pair and the owners are good for splits and cutting mono but the cutters on the owners are no good for braid but at the price what could you expect.
but this is all JMHO .

I just use the shimano ones
I just use the shimano ones for 6 bucks a pair.
I havent had any problems with the last pair until I lost them.
:)
I just attach them to one of those retractable key rings holders and hang it from my belt or button hole in shirt etc.
Snip the line and let them go.

Perfect mate
I can tie a lanyard to it and attach it to my tackle back pack or to my belt.
