Surfer killed in grace town this morning.
not good at all, let alone just before holiday season, and also whilst there is a major event down there this weekend (food and wine festival).
condolences to their families.

Poor Gracie's can't cop a trick & the mindless phuckwits on perthnow whom are all experts on the SW & sharks do my head in.
RIP, heart goes out to the family & his friends.
Headed out to check the pots yesterday on west coast amongst some whales waving & the sounder showed up an absolute beast 20m under the boat, no doubt what it was.. the bastards are everywhere

RIP
RIP. Always in the back of my mind while I'm diving. That's the choice surfers, divers and snorkelers make, doing what we love. Unfortunately the critics don't always see it that way. Banning cars on the roads will prevent road deaths.....
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

Poor prick. Why do the media
Poor prick.
Why do the media maggots have to print what the witness said about the state he was in ?? Noone needs to know that and would be pretty upsetting for the family.

Condolences to the family and friends a absolute tragedy .. could it have been averted I don't know , but hey it's his fault he went in the water right . Some close calls this week and not all volunteered to be in the water . Because they are such beautiful majestic creatures they have every right to kill you if you enter the 2/3rds of the earth they inhabit . Apparently this rash on my neck that comes and goes is a direct result of my thoughts that thinning them out would be a good idea . I'm all for preservation but I'd fight for my brother's life rather than a shark any day of the week . RIP .

Condolences to the family, a tragic loss.
I was there this morning, free diving maybe 500m-1km south of umbies when it happend, choppers over head etc, was a little eerie but but great conditions all the same.
It's what we do, we all love the ocean, and I'm going diving again tomorrow regardless.
Good luck all

Isn't that area closed ATM
Fisheries have big shark baits around there surely a shark attractant.
Think they might move anyone surfing diving ect on and for good reason.

attack
I was in the water today (for the first time in a long time) the conditions were just so perfect , when I got out I listened stunned at the news on the radio of that shark attack then I looked around and saw the dozens and dozens of cray pot floats and thought to myself "shit that's a lot of bait in the water" I have faced a big tiger shark down at onslow and blasted him with a home made smokie (the only time I have had to use a smokie ), but don't think I would like to face a GW down here
condolences to the family

media coverage
I want to know the details of what happened. How else can we make informed decisions if we don't know the full picture. I'm sure any shark fatality is a terrible mess but I think a description of the injuries helps make people aware of the respect these predators deserve and the damage they can do to our frail human bodies.
