Some hot days fishing up in Exmouth the last couple. Lets just say the mackerel are back and firing (big too), the dollies are free swimming everywhere, theres been tuna schools the size of football fields on the back of the reef, spangleds coming from everywhere, monster coral and coronation trout, heaps of jobfish, the fishing has be HHOOOOOOTTT!!

Now if only I was out there. ;(

Oh yeh, nice pic too Jay, how'd the popping go?

Don't know Neale, that was dead low tide. Never been in that area in a boat so I wouldn't have a clue. All that matters is that there is big GT's there!

memories

Tue, 2009-06-23 21:35

Many good memories of Samson Jay. have fished off the Cape Lambert Ore Jetty many years ago when all it took was a carton to the right people. GT's the size of fridge doors around the pilons and some mackies up to 30kg. The hard part was getting them up with the pylons and sharks agianst you.
The old Samson jetty was great as well. Used to watch kids catch Mackies and sell them for cash to the fish and chip shop....Whalers from memory but that was 24 years ago now.
