rotto weekend.

Hey guys.
In the coming months i will be taking the family camping on the boat at rotto for a weekend. we have booked a mooring,
was just wondering how people went with leaving their cars parked at the ramp overnight?
we will be launching from hillary's on the friday and coming back sunday. Anyone had issues with cars getting broken into etc? or relatively safe.
I dont live too far away, so worst case can drive it home, but just creastes a few logistical issues.
any input greatly appreciated!

When I used to have a trailer
When I used to have a trailer boat I would just take the trailer home when staying at Rotto. Bit of a hassle but took away any concerns with leaving it in the carpark.

Have left my car and trailer dozens of times at Hillarys for a night or 2 and have never had an issue. Make sure you trailer hitch is locked.

Had my car & trailer stolen from Hillarys' years ago on Sat night, trailer was padlocked to car and was reported doing burnouts in Padbury about 1am .That was just a night fish out at little island. Police rang wife at home to inform her it was abandon near a park,bastards did'nt even attend. Lost my removable trailer lights as well and the insurance did not cover as they where on the back seat and not connected to the car.
Would suggest get a friend to return car & trailer home and ring to pick up on return.

So removeable trailer lights
are more secure on the trailer rather than within a locked vehicle? The majority of insurance companies are just cu#ts.
