It went for a screamer of a run to start with. I couldn't believe it at first then it slowed down and it was just smaller runs and lots of head shakes and changes of direction. I guessed straight away it was a shark but didn't really believe it until I saw it. Danny.
Caught yesterday morning at 3.45am after an all nighter. I wasn't targeting sharks but was targeting bream but had a Mulla line out just in case. so I wasn't using wire, just 100lb mono trace. Very lucky to land it aye.
Just to think all that time i been in waist to neck deep in good old swan river water digging for worms....well those days are over now since seeing that! Well done Dan!

Beautiful to eat...... Yummmmmmmm. I had some last night and if anyone says River sharks are no good you can give em to me. I do look after them pretty good but. They get bled and gutted straight away and then put in my esky with a big block of ice, then covered with river water so its chilled right down straight away. Cheers Danny.

I got buzzed last week whilst diving for prawns at The Coombes...don't know what by though.
Jimz - I reckon The Swan is one of the cleanest, active systems in the world. Why would dolphins chase fish up near bayswater. Why can I catch 'leader' prawns all year round. Mulloway are caught up near bayswater and also mate in the lower reaches (very noisey last week too).
You wouldn't believe what else lives down in the depths of the river.
We are lucky to have an awesome river in our City....lets hope it stays that way.
Lots of sea horses down in the lower parts of the river as well. It could be healthier, but it certainly isn't bad compared to other parts of the world as Pete has said, we are very lucky indeed.
Daniel they are a good indercator of fish in the area i fished the river many hours for kingies and have caught many sharks as well as big kingies dont give up champ on your spot sharks = bait = fish. Turning a reel is better THAN NOTHING COMMITMENT = FISH but im sure u now this!

We used to get a few gummies
We used to get a few gummies in the Glenelg river in Vic.
They definately go a lot harder in the river compared to the sea.
