Good knot Jay i was playing with these before bugatti and decided to tie them about 1/2 - 1/3rd shorter than what you have there. Still holds very well and didnt have one problem, Also casts a tad better.

Cheers

What type of fishing are you doing that requires a PR knot Jay? Thought for GT fishing you went twisted leaders?

Shying away from twisted

Shying away from twisted leaders a bit now, had problems with biminis fouling on guides. Single strand is far smoother to cast and less visible in the water when using stick baits.

Twisties will always have a place though... after a bust off it's just a matter of tying a new bimini and attatching the twised leader. I don't think I could be bothered tying a PR knot out on the water.

How long are your biminis? Also, what knot to the twisted leader? Never had any biminis hang up, but then i'm casting a third of the weight and less...

Generally we try to tye our biminis as short as we possibly can, the knot we use is sorta like a cats paw. The problems we've had are extremely isolated compared to the number of casts we put in.

I wonder if diffferent tension on the legs is whats causing the hangup. I've got a few ideas for alternative knots, i'll test them out and see how they go with a twisted leader.

Possibly, it's nearly impossible to get them the same but you can get pretty bloody close.

Depends how you pull the knot tight. You cant even tell most of mine have biminis except for a small knot in the braid. No gap as long as theres the slightlest bit of tension on the line
