Not quite a Pilbara sized trout (but no gut shot Brad!!!)

Not quite a Pilbara sized trout (but no gut shot Brad!!!)

After picking Dad up, we re-launched the boat to collect tea. I decided to try some new ground I spied during lower tides earlier in the week. Vis was ordinary but I still managed a 48cm and a new PB speared trout at 61cm. Steamed it with ginger and stir fry veg last night. Dad's first taste of Exmouth (and it cost me 4L of fuel to catch).

Whats the deal with a gut shot

Wed, 2009-05-27 11:46

If you catch a fish and bring it in and it is hooked by the pectoral fin its still caught. In the older days when we spearfished the "guns" wherent as good as the RA Rails etc and any hit was good. Now everyone picks on certain shots.

It sounds a little like How bigs your D#*k to me.

just a bit of friendly

Wed, 2009-05-27 12:59

just a bit of friendly stirring between mates. A fish in the boat is a fish in the boat, who cares how it was caught or shot. This one was a flukey head shot that did exit through the gut, just can't see it in the pic. Still tasted exactly the same though.
We've all copped it before, just guys being guys and giving their mates sh*t.
Probably should have thought about the title better before posting.
