caught him around 10.30am Sunday morning on fresh tailor fillet. 54lb braid with a 54lb leader. Put up a fight for about fifteen minutes, took about 100m of line then dead weight for 5 minutes back to shore. Absolute monster, very happy fisherman. Fish weighed 38kgs and was the length of my Mrs, 1.7m long. hey guys its jeremy here the misses put the last lot up dont listen to her haha, i have another picture that we took on the camera much better shows its true size, its not 1.7 long its about 1.55m and between 32 and 35 kg could be more, if there is an eddie expert on this fish be my guess and tell us how much it wieghs. will put the picture up soon his a thick horse cheers
Huge fish!!! 155cm should be 37.4kg according to the chart I have. Looks to be every bit of 140+ cm so it's going to be over 30kgs either way. Awesome fish and a size that isn't seen all that often, once in a lifetime catch there for sure.
They must get very fat fish over there, in regards to Tailor and Snapper. I just compared their tables to my records of Snapper(recorded only 27) and Tailor(recorded 48) i have and they are at least 25% heavier in most cases according to their tables to what i actually weighed mine as compared to their length. Unfortunantly they dont do Dhuis too haha.
And yes i was using calibrated electronic scales and a metal tape measure :)
Bloody awesome mate, can I ask if you caught that north or south of black peak? Thats the 4th big croaker in about 4 months i've heard of getting caught around there bloody good to see

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.
