Might be imported.  In Asia, grey band, potato cod, cod in general, coral trout, harlis are all lumped as rock cod or garoupa, then there is a specific name for each type of garoupa.

Pretty sure that would be the case Alfred, it is with many types of fish. Would have to be a laugh if it wasn't though, not sure how many customers would come back
