Having a trout hot streak at the moment in new spots everytime, this time surely never fished ground as just so unlikely. Always pays to listen to the spidey senses and give it a drift.

Lovely trout. Your comment about unlikely ground reminded me of a few places between islands in the Dampier area years back, where we'd come across trout when drifting over what looked to be flat and pretty featureless ground. .Dived a couple of times and it was just pavement covered with a little sand and a few very shallow ledges, so no idea whay they were there. Could see them sititng just above the bottom facing into the current, but there were no big structures around. Wondered if it might be a tidal thing and bait briefly accumulated along current lines, or maybe some sort of spawning aggregation. Remained a mystery...
