its a gurnard perch has venomous spines but fairs all right on the table 3 stars. also known as old mans cray fish.flesh is snow white!

my mate got stung by a lionfish he broke is arm whilst going off in pain.
when i am out all scorpion cods must be de hooked outside the boat
not worth the risk in my opinion.

Looks like a fairly deep water species IMO. Probably why I haven't seen one before.
What depth (approximate) do you catch it in?

Too true about the doctor , was a bit blowwie out there today as well, looks like it's here for the week as well.
PS we landed a 700mm Elvis today , big Yellow sucker .
