A mate from Busso flipped me this picture. You've got to be kidding me!. The little Evoque has a towing capacity of 16-1800 kg.

but then add fuel , dive/fishing gear, the bullbar , towbar engels and in my case roof camper some tools, recovery gear, long range fuel tank etc. all of a sudden you back to overload
only way is a light truck - isuzu or canter if u want 4x4

Those of us who originally come from the east coast cannot believe how common it is over here to see illegal towing. Sooner or later the law enforcement agencies & insurance companies will start to take a firmer hand.
It's bad enough to lose insurance on both vehicle & boat in the event of an accident. What's much worse is the possibility of criminal charges with potential jail time if the accident results in injury to the other party.
Dhudreamer is absolutely correct in stating that just because a vehicle can tow a boat doesn't make it legal.

Um that didn't come out right but I digress , Samsung musos ( 2.2 litre desiel),( kerb mass off Ute 2080 kg) or whatevers are rated at 3500 kg so 3500 seems the new marketing target for car companies to hit ..... Engineering or commonsense be dammed....

That is a full blown discovery. not a sport min towing cap on the diesel is 3.5T. on the petrol supercharged it is 3.7T
