Worth heading out wide??

So Sunday is looking like the first day of light winds, according to seabreeze 5 knot southerly and dropping during the day! With this forecast I'm looking for some advise on the conditions out there. Our intentions are to take my 5.8m Genesis and head to one of our marks 45-50km out from the Dawesville Cut nice and early to fish the high tide (6am-9am) and hopefully snag a Dhu or Pinky. I'm unsure if the seas will still be rough after the recent blows? Also what are your thoughts on demersal activity after such weather, will the fish be on the bite or hidden away?

We haven't had any luck fishing for Pinkys or Dhuies and it not due to lack of trying, but this time around we're making sure every box is ticked haha. Any advise on increasing our chance's of catching one of these very common fish will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance fellas!

I typed out a reply but decided it sounded too negative and have left only

"take it as it comes mate. no-one here is a superman at forecasting either weather or fish biting"

No matter what they tell you.

Enjoy the day if the weather is nice!

I would expect it to be lumpy

I would expect it to be lumpy still, due to being onshore then southerly winds heading into Sunday, takes some easterlies to blow it flat a bit Id say. Like Rob said, head out the cut and see what its like. No expectations, no dissapointments.....

...if it's too lumpy there should be some KG's hanging around the bridge pylons in the Cut, not big ones, but legal...

Yeah it's all luck of the draw stuff as I've found out over my many years of hunting Dhuies. Just keep moving around, I've seen it happen so many times where a boat is  literally 20m away kills the pig while you don't even get a bite. That's why most will drift fish. Hard coral bottom or good lumpy ground either works. My biggest Dhu came from absolutely flat coral bottom. Most of all just enjoy being out there!
