Whens metro salmon season finish?

Keen to know roughly when the salmon season usually ends for the metro area. Obviously it will vary depending on water temperatures and some years are much better than others but a general rule of thumb is all im after from the guys in the know.

still getting them out deeper. some big schools held up off rocko this week, but not many came in close.

A good storm will break up the schools, theres still a chance we will have a cracker Metro season,,fingers crossed.
The Penguin Island ferry operator has been seeing a few schools,,so the shore based season might begin in earnest very soon.
As for the original question when does it finish, i have no idea july-August perhaps ?

A good storm will break them up and give us land based fishers a go at somthing to stretch our lines.
