wagoe 2/10/09
went for a quick weekend trip up to wagoe. arrived friday night around 6pm and set up camp
decided to head out for a quick fish, and ended up with an ok 47cm tailor. driving back to camp i bumped into sails4me off this site and had a quick chat, they had a few bustoffs and landed a couple tailor also.
saturday morning early rise, and it was fairly quiet, lots of small fish about picking at the bait, a couple casts later had a skippy and the biggest herring i've ever seen!! all quiet again the WAM the line was screaming off the real and i caught a big flash of silver just behind the waves... a short fight later and my hopes of a nice mullaway dashed as 12kg of solid sambo slid up the beach. a pleasant surprise as its a first for me so it made my trip. after that i got a huge flatty (60cm) and then it shut down.
later that night with quite a few bevvies in between with matt and the other guys i met up there, we joined forces for a night fish and put a small dent in the tailor population wwith the best going around 2kg, other than that there was a couple bust offs n plenty of beer flowing.
the next morning the swell picked up and the beach was pretty unfishable. along with that on saturday we crossed paths with fishing wa crew who picked up a few midday tailor. all in all had a great trip

Yes; good report - nice result
I'm due for a northern run also. Maybe in a couple of weeks time. Sambo off the beach; now that would be a smashing run and something to complement the run of a large Tailor. Nice work mate.

Good stuff Joe. Looks and sounds like you had a good time. Sambo off the beach would have been fun.
