Travelling interstate with a Rifle

Howdy all,
Have any of you fellas flown interstate in recent times with a firearm?
Trying to line up a Sambar hunt in Vic and working out whether it's worth the muck around.

I'm no expert but need to follow Dangerous Goods Declaration
For Ammo
Will also need to have a vistors premit from the relevant authority from the state you are traveling to and hunting in.

Yes from WA to VIC is easy.
Yes from WA to VIC is easy. just follow instructions on Vicpol website and the rules for checking in firearms on your airline.
other states firearm laws are relatively friendly compared to wa.

Qantas
Qantas is relatively straight forward. I don't think Virgin carry firearms anymore.
Start doing some cardio walking up hills mate, it will help you no end when you eventually head over.
