Trailcraft profish

G'day All ,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience in these set ups  , mostly fish within 15 ks of metro but venture north a few times a year .Stability ? ride ? Expect to get a bit wet but deckspace for a smallish boat looks useable.

Owned a 4.2 tinny before and just got rid of my old glass haines ,yep totally different  than the old boat but am considering a Profish 4.5 .

Cheers for any feedback

Andy

Profish 510

Wed, 2015-08-19 09:08

Mate, I have had a Profish 510 side consul for three years and it has been great. I launch and retrieve myself in the Rockingham area and have been diving over in Rotto and towed it up North a couple of times. Its great for almost all things. I do a lot of squiding and crabing in season and have caught some bnice snapper from it as well.

I have just upgraded my boat to a hard top as I want to go out way deep and sleep on it with the kids over Rotto etc but if my needs hadn't changed I would hang onto the Profish longer. Its actually taking up sapce in my driveway with the new boat lol.

I would recommend it. Mine is the Australian made version not the newer chinese made hull.

Cheers Rigpig , yea pretty set on a 07 465 , 50 hp honda with 50 hrs . Boat is immaculate , hds7 should suit me to a tea .

just sold a Haines 625 with 175 2 banger, looking forward to reduced fuel costs , only fish out too 15ks metro and Steep point trip yearly with a good mate with 23 ft Keywest cc will use the big boat for long trips and pro fish for the inshore stuff.

I believe the went Chinese in 2011 from what I can find so will be Aussie made

cheers for the info

Andy, just check the hull

Andy, just check the hull sheets, as they tried to use a thinner pressed hull and had problems ,needing to re skin over the existing hull,(heavy) also I would be going to the max HP or at least a 70 as I think loaded you will be disappointed with the 50. Sorry!

 No worries Max ,appreciate

No worries Max ,appreciate all input as no deal has been done yet ,bottom plate looks like 5 mm in the underfloor area ,will measure ribs ect  with micrometer tomorrow .was curious about engine power will ocean test on Monday and see how it runs ,generally just fishing or hooker diving close to home with the yearly trip from Denham to shelter bay with a bit of gear on for that trip , sholud weigh @ 600 kg dry ( 485 weighs 480 plus donk ,90 kg ) so will be interesting coming from a 2 ton Haines with 175 fuel vaporiser on the back , not expecting blistering performance but getting to old to scream around these days !

cheers for your input   Andy

Andy ,You will notice a big

Andy ,You will notice a big difference in the 4st, as generally the holeshot will be slower almost to the point of labouring , again my comment on load will make a big difference to the overall performance, make sure you sea test with a weight represented of the max weight you are likely to carry (extra fuel, fishing gear, mates etc.)
The Honda's are great motors, good luck.

Max.
