Tournament 2250 Walkaround Help
Submitted by A-SALT-WEAPON on Sun, 2014-04-06 22:16
I need some help with trying to track one down and someone who ownes a 2250 walkaround tournament in Perth, there's no more dealers in Perth so i cant look at one. I'd like to buy one but there all over East. I've looked over the mustang 2250 its seems like a nice boat. They changed to tournament now haines group make them. I believe there's one in the boat storage in Freo next to little creatures. Has anyone been fishing in one and are they any good. I'm suprised there not a bit more popular as the walkaround section seems awsome for a fibre glass boat. Any reviews would be appreciated and if i could look at one would even better.

Are these the boats your looking at? http://www.tpboats.com.au/index.php
Doesnt look like Haines build them but they are their own company.

Thanks Nathan
They don't sell them anymore have already spoken to them. They got out of them they have a tournament 2150 there for sale at cost price last one. The 2150 is a fair bit different.

A mustang 2250 forsale on gumtree - might be worth a look - trucking from the east not cheap on a boat that size

Nice looking boat
I'm just not into stern drives, i dont know why.. The reason im going over east is theres a 2008 model over there for sale. Its a Tournament ( i no its the same boat) just trying to get the age of the boat reduced a little.. I think they stopped making Mustang in 2003. I've been told they went to foam composite stringers in 2009 before that it was wood. So that may make a bit of a difference in the boat ride. There just does'nt seem to be to many Tournaments here in Perth maybe there no good. Thanks for the post pelagicachts. Might be worth a look if all else fails.

What age is your gen2i? Ive red a couple of comments on the 2250 hull, are that there wet... now i no that could be a combination of factors. You having the same hull is that the case? Thanks for your feed back

Our uncle has a mustang 2250
Our uncle has a mustang 2250 walk around, awesome boat. We fish out of the boat a lot and couldn't imagine fishing in a boat that isn't walk around after fishing in one.
Early to bed ... early to rise ... fish all day... this is our lives.

I wonder what Haines are doing?
They bought the brand about 10 months ago and and dropped dealers around the country,so much for upholding a brand.I would say that Perth has a very healthy boating population and the Tournament brand was getting popular (at least it is in Karratha). When I purchased mine I looked at the Haines Hunter patroit,Cruise Craft explorer and the leisure cat 7000.All boats suited me in many ways but the cook had to be satified as well so it came to wait times and luxury features the Tournament 2250 had plenty of these and was available off the floor.Ive had the boat for four years and can tell you I love the hull and standard of fittings the only drama was the Etec which gave a heap of trouble. The boat is not a wet boat except when green ones are coming over top it can squirt through the zippers on the clears but it not the boats fault. 45mm of glass on the bottem with a dry weight of 1400kg for hull only you need a 3t plus tow rig once your loaded.I think your doing the right thing looking over east but its such a shame a Aussie brand has been bought out and made hard to get.
There are two types of people ,do'ers and watchers
Right now the do'ers are the doing it
And the watchers are watching us do it
