Hi Guys

Does anyone have a recommendation on a good tent heater? Will be on a powered camp site.

Cheers

Webasto diesel heaters are quite popular among the caravaners.

Congrats all so on the little 1, If in a powered site go to Kmart and get a small 5 fin oil filled column heater around $50. Have been taking one to Walpole  tenting for years , no flames , no flumes and yes it gets hot but wont rip skin off and set cloths alight if brushed against it and if it falls over they have an auto shut off and you will not hear it but remember any heater in a tent could be a hazzard  . As I have said been using are's for 8 years now and highly recommend this type of heating for tents as would not put my family at risk .

I concur with the oil-filled heater recommendation, providing you have room for it.

We have camped with el-cheapo $10 fan heaters, oil filled heaters and electric blankets. My choice now would be the electric blankets or electric throw. But when the little one was tiny and the Mrs was up for a decent portion of the night, we used the electric oil filled heater to heat the whole tent. Those fan heaters are too risky to fall over and cause devastation! They also are noisy and make it instantly hot but then instantly cold as soon as they go off. The oil filled are silent but will gently heat up the space.

Ours was a fairly heavy canvas camper trailer so it retained the heat quote well, not sure how it would go in a nylon tent. We camped with the little one in July in Dwellingup at 4weeks old!

I can easily recommend the Wabasto, we have one and use it a lot in the winter months, don’t smell and don’t use a lot of fuel either.
