Who squids at night time and what artificial light do you use? Should the light be sub-surface or hitting the water from above? Does it make a difference? I am thinking of a prawning light hung off the back of the boat, under water???

We're off to steep point in may and the boys are keen for a night fishing session. Thinking a few squid on the way out would make excellent live bait for a night session targeting pink snapper!

Night squiding
Hi Randall I've squided a few times in the sound at night after pulling my pots and have just used my overhead strip led light ( I have a cc )
Defiantly seemed to make a difference you could see the squid hanging around just on the edge of the shadow caused by the light , ie not right in close to the boat but not in the dark .

When snapper fishing at night we quite often get squid coming up to the boat, I am guessing its because of the anchor light?
